itti bitti dlish from mothers instinct or berry plush from tweedle are like this. I saw this thing for sale at mums and bubs and its like a sock thing that you put the inserts in and then you put it in a cover so each change you just take the sock and inserts out and put new ones in.

There are heaps of pocket nappies on the market - the best ones are usually sold on the internet. Try www.mothersinstinct.co.nz for a good selection. Karyn is really nice & helpful

There are so many pocket nappies out there, but not that many in stores. But as you are in Auckland I would say going out to Milford to the Snazzi store and having a good look out there. I haven't personally met Pippa but others say she is lovely and really helpful.

thanks guys think i will try them out and see how we go. Luke is skinny just on 10kg and very slender around the waist. So they may be o.k. they are resonable too.

I like the look of the nappies that you don't have to wash after every use just take the insert out.

Gremlins were in smalls from about 12 weeks or so, they would have been about 7kg. I never had any probs with them. Jack still fits the medium so they are great sizing. We just have huge problems with leaking, they work ok the first couple of times but then leak through the PUL. I've used peapods on Caleb since he was four weeks old. They work well for him but he isn't a huge wetter. I have a couple that I brought when we first tried out cloth nappies and have had no problems with them. Ella went staight into a medium and it still fits her (with space to grow), so I was pretty pleased with their sizing. I normally use them with their insert and a booster.

You should have a look at Snazzipants in Milford, they have a wide range and you can see what fits the best. They re online too. www.snazzipants.co.nz
Personally I like fuzzibunz, they have snap fasteners that don't go funny in the wash and seem tamper proof so far anyway. i used them on jack without any trouble at all and he was a skinny boy. they are generous in their sizing though. they were my first cloth nappy and that was the start of my addiction!   

the only reason i didn't buy more of them was they didn't have many colours. they are great for the price and i love the trifold insert you get with them, they are awesome! i use that with a prefold overnight and it lasts 13-14hrs.

I had a chubby baby (4.2kg) and I found they were the worst fitting nappy I had ever tried

A Peapod was the first nappy I ever got, and when I got them they were great. I have heard thou that people that got them after me the PUL wasn't the best and leaked quite bad.

The insert however is great.

The best thing to do would be buy one first to try and see what you think. There are so many nappies on the market and from what I've read Pea Pods aren't a favourite with the majority, but others love them, so it's best to try a few different brands/styles before investing in a huge stash. You can sell what you don't like and buy more of what you do!

Other popular brands you could look at are: Fuzzi Bunz, BumGenius, Honeychild, Baby Harmony, Foxybots, Itti Bitti D'lish, Tweedle, Wigglebums..... ummmmmm.... mind blank.......but that should keep you going for a while

They aren't as good quality as most nappies, they tend to wear out sooner... they also get very mixed reviews, and don't seem to suit that many babies. I have about 6 of them, part of a mixed stash.
I've been using them since Benjy was 6 months old and they're still going strong. I've only had to strip once and that was for odour not leaks.
I haven't used them for overnight, but they work fine during the day. That's with the Peapods insert and a booster.
