Wow Becca that is kind of freaky. Oooo now I can't wait for you to have your midwifes appointment. Okay, I know I haven't been to the midwife yet to know if there's one baby or two (next week, after I'm 12 weeks) but we were talking to my parents last weekend, and I told them about my dreams. They looked at each other, and then Mum said "I think you guys buying our car off us is a great idea! We'd be happy for you to pay it off!"

We totally were not expecting that! They're going to figure out how much they want for it, but it looks like between $6000 and $8000... I can't believe this part seems to be coming true!

I thought it was the guy who determined twins well at least for the fraternal or was it the other type, I cant remember I just remember the midwife asking Darron if there were twins in his family (there are twins on both sides but only distant) Im pretty sure older woman have a better chance of twins aswell. I know this is not the same as having them full time but I looked after my friends we girl for about 3 days a week from when she was 3 months (same age as Kobe) and I loved it. Vanessa, twins run in Nathaniel's family as well... not that it makes any difference! I had such trouble last weekend making my Mum realise that the fact Nat has uncles who are twins is irrelevant to whether or not I could be carrying twins! And she's a nurse! I never went to the doctor in japan while I was pregnant with Taine. After remarknig to Mum that I felt bigger than i had with jaek, she piped up with "could be twins". I'd forgotten but we have many twins in the family, as does lewis. I was not impressed. Twins are cool, I am one myself and they run in my family, my mum has two sets of twins in her family. But I can tell you I was still relieved to see only one baby in my scan, I don't think I would be able to cope with twins especially for my first pregnancy. i only dream in colour myself too.... i never dreamt i was having twins before my scan but it was in my thoughts for a while... i was relieved when i saw only one baby, i didnt think i could cope with 4 under 4! argh, but i know that people do.
goodluck though, lol, imagine if you are! like kasbee says its hard work! i nannied twins a boy and a girl (18 month olds..) and it was madness! but lots of fun.
still, after singletons i couldnt imagine how hard it must be for mothers of twins.... nappies, feeds etc...

Yeah my baby dreams have been pretty vivid surround sound "the hills are alive" type of dreams...

Wow dreaming of twins... I never dreamt i was pregnant with twins and didn't really have any idea that i was having twins till my scan told me other wise. That gave me the shock of my life. One of my friends has just had her twins, a boy and a girl, both over 6lbs. Man if your having twins i feel for you cause its bl**dy hard work. Don't get me wrong i love my babies to bits but i can't understand why any sain person would wish to have twins. It sure could be, Mrs Frantic! I guess the thing is, I dream really vividly normally - in full colour and everything (most people dream in black and white). My preggy dreams are even more vivid than what is the norm for me. I was sure sure sure I was having twins, I put on weight real fast and i felt real sick, mind you it is my first pregnancy so i didnt have much to compare it with. I was so sure it was unreal and I also had the twin dream (infact I think thats how it all got started i had the first dream at about 7 weeks) but when I went to my scan it was only one *phew* not that twins are not really cool, ofcourse they are, but we wouldnt have had the money for 2 so I was pretty relieved! Both Nathaniel and I would be quite happy to have twins. We've always said we'd like twins one day...

1) Neither of us "felt" like we had twins with Josiah, but we both do this time - even before my first dream, when we only suspected I was pregnant!

2) morning sickness is different this time - but I had none with Kiya, and only felt yuck with Josiah. This time I have waves of strong nausea, but I'm not throwing up (yet), only retching.

3) have to wait and see on this one

4) not that I've noticed, but I was quite a way in when I found out I was pregnant so ???

5) I have "popped" out a bit, but it could be because this is my 3rd pregnancy, and my muscles and uterus are more stretched than last time

6, 7, 8) I'll have to wait until after I see the midwife for the first time next week

I've done a little research online about symptoms of multiple pregnancies... there are 9 commonly accepted symptoms, and they are: (from this link)

1) intuition/dreams

2) more morning sickness (only affects 50% of mums expecting twins)

3) other preggy symptoms exaggerated (only affects some mums expecting twins)

4) rapid weight gain in first trimester (although mums with twins only gain about 5kg more overall than mums with one)

5) measuring large for gestational date (could also be because you got your dates wrong initially)

6) elevated levels of AFP (can be elevated for other reasons, lower levels for twins fall within higher levels for one)

7) rapidly rising hCG levels

8) caregiver hears 2 heartbeats (one baby's heartbeat can sound different from different points, also possibility of cord echo)

9) positive ultrasound showing 2 babies

A couple of weeks ago (right before we found out for sure I was pregnant) I dreamed we had identical twin girls. In my dream, we sold our car for $2000 and gave that to my parents as the deposit on their people-mover, and we were paying the rest of the $7000 off. The twins went in the middle 2 seats, Kiya was in the back driver's side corner, and Josiah was in the other back corner!
