Hopefully they will be kind to you if you ask specifically.<br /><br />I love the feeling you have for the first 10 or so minutes after waking up...blissful.]]>

It hits adults alot harder than children, the recoverey I mean.<br /><br />I was off work for a good 10 days after it.  But it was definitely worth every minute of the pain/hassle!]]>

It will be fine.  I have said so before, just PM with any questions.]]>

Bear in mind that it may not be just the anaesthetic that can affect your breastmilk, you may be given codeine for the pain depending on how well you cope.<br /><br />How long you are out depends on the operation. I was out for about 3-4 hours (I think, not quite sure actually!) for my boob op. I think tonsils may only be up to a couple of hours from memory of when my sis got hers done.]]>

You totally can't feel a thing? <FONT color=magenta>You definitely can't feel a thing while you're knocked out and they'll keep you out for the full operation (it's in their best interest to)</FONT><BR><BR>How does it affect breast milk &amp; breastfeeding ...how long do you think it will stay in my system? <FONT color=magenta>Check with the specialist.&nbsp; When I went in they had special handouts for BFing mums and I can't remember if it was 18 or 24 hours but I had to express a fair amount before the&nbsp;endoscopy (she was still feeding several times day/night) and I was able to start BFing again the next day.&nbsp; In the meantime I expressed and discarded.</FONT><BR></P><P><BR><FONT color=magenta>It will be so fabulous to have those nasty tonsils out.&nbsp; It's definitely worth it.&nbsp; You'll be fine, infact you'll be better than fine because you won't suffer from tonsilitis anymore - it's been 20 years since I had mine out and I still remember how awful tonsilitis makes you feel.</FONT></P>]]>
