Phoenix had it for about a month, not super bad... but I did wash his head more frequently massaged and dried off after and it seemed to go away.

Harry's was bad for him cos he was scratching it all the time and it was kinda weeping when he scratched it, poor lil mite. I tried everything, olive oil did nothing. In the end the only thing that cleared it up was putting hydrocordisone on it a couple of times, and thank goodness we haven't had it again since cos I can't keep doing that. He'd had it for months though and it was really bothering him (scratching etc). mum put a little lavender essential oil on Keziah's head, left it for about 1/2 an hour then took to it with a bank card.... came right off!! I thought 'EWWWW mum stop using that on my daughters head', but it definitely did the trick and now her CC is almost gone and it was REALLY bad \

I tried this too as DS had it really bad when younger. It worked a treat but did return. The Plunket nurse was horrified when I told her I had used this old remedy . She told me to leave it alone and it will go away. Got worse again so used olive oil and brushed the flakes off which worked well. Has nearly all gone now.

I think it is one of those things where you just have to try things and see which works for your bubs.

Mercedes still has it. It bugs me that the likes of Plunket bring this up all the time and yet when you ask them, they'll readily agree that it's not a problem! It's just cosmetic.

Jake still had it up until recently. Have always had success with baby oil and a soft brush, I dont think its bad though?  Just one of those things that may not lok that fantastic but isnt actually harmful

Hannah's is chronic
We've tried everything from baby and olive oil to Bepanthen and Egozite. Nothing worked.

I don't know if it's just coincedence, but we've started using Johnson's baby shampoo+conditioner and it's getting (slowly) better each day.
Unfortunately, her hair is coming with it...she's starting to look like her Grandad!

BTW.  The site specifically says not to use olive oil  as this "encourages proliferation of malassezia" (whatever that is).

 

ETA: I've just read several other sites that recommend use of olive oil and other vege oils.  I'm so confused

Oli had it and I only half-heartedly treated it, somedays I would put some olive oil or almond oil on it, but most of the time I didnt worry about and it just went away.

My Plunket nurse told me to use a credit card to scrape it off....I thought that was just wierd....and couldnt imagine it would be hygenic or comfortable!

BTW when she had it bad I used olive oil, left it on (under a hat) for several hours then brushed it off.  That got rid of most of it and had I been a bit more persistent it probably would have got rid of all of it.
