From my first pregnancy I ended up on crutches from about 32 weeks due to the pain. All I would recommend is to go to the Physio who can give you stretches to do. Try pregnancy water aerobics but tell the instuctor you have SPD as they will show you a different way to do the excersises and unfortunately to stay off your feet as much as you can, avoid stairs, keep your legs together as much as possible, one trick i learnt was to put a plastic bag on my drivers seat in the car as this makes it easier to get in and out. The paid does disappear after labour but the more you look after yourself now the faster it will disappear, good luck and stay positive remeber it doesnt effect your baby!

I didnt have a belt as Im quite a chunky gal & couldnt really find one suitable for my size so I just went with the flo & suffered right up till I gave birth, thank goodness the pain went away after I had her... I must admit though when I went into labour with her I S**t myself sevearly coz as we all know we give birth with our legs wide open & the thought of having my legs the slightest bit apart terrified me coz of the pain, but surprisingly I dont recall any pain, I think my contractions took over....Hehe

I had it so bad with my last pregnancy & from about 24 weeks on I cried every single night in bed as it was excrutiating to move. A bout would help you quite alot if you wanted to try one. How far on are you?

Here is a little something about the symptoms of SPD otherwise google it and & read up on it...

Symptoms

* Pain in the pubic area and groin (the pubis symphysis) is the most common symptom.
* Many women also suffer from lower back (sacroiliac joints) pain, pain in buttock area (posterior pelvic pain), lower abdomen and hip pain. It can also radiate down the inner thigh.
* It is common to feel a grinding or clicking in the pubic area when walking.
* The pain is often made worse by separating your legs, walking, getting in or out of a car, going up or down stairs or moving around in bed.

You dont have to have all of these symptoms, My symptom was the last one.

Have you been to a chiro or osteo about it? There may be things they can do to help you.. my chiro gave me some stretches to do when I feel the pain starting to return which keeps me in check. 99% of the time I don't have to go back and see him now.

It's like i've ripped my insides out every time I move. I wear a belly band to keep my pants up and I find the extra support quite helpful. I'd try the belt as long as it doesn't put too much pressure on your belly as that can be very uncomfortable.

Esp at night, which keeps you up alot. I've tried panadol, but it takes forever to actually get up and outta bed coz of the pain.. I've heard of a special 'belt' but would rather not wear one of those as i get an image of a chunky wrestler-type belt. Does the pain suddenly go away after birth? And will i get it with other pregnancys?
