But the few times I have had to force it into her, I had to make sure I aimed it kind of towards her back teeth more.  If I aimed it straight at the back of her throat she would gag and and sometimes vomit.  But if too close to the front of her mouth she would spit it out.  Good luck, Ashleigh has also come down with this nasty virus and is a bag of misery.  She had a high temp earlier but pamol did bring it down and she has just gone to bed so hopefully will be a bit perkier when she wakes. Does she like honey, you could dissolve some in warm water &amp; see if she will sip on that, will make her throat feel a bit better also.&nbsp; Can't think of much else but I hope it all goes well at the dr's</P>]]>

(In which case she probably won't put up a huge fight over it)<br /><br />I really hope she's better soon chick!]]>

He just won't let anything near his mouth.<br />I know this probably doesn't help right now, but you could ask when you go to the doc, for panadol suppositories.<br />They were the only way we could get meds into Benjy when he last had a really high temp without him getting really upset or puking it back up.<br />They are no fun for either party putting them in, but its really quick, in before they know it,  and they seem to last a lot longer than Pamol for Benjy too. (You can ask your doc to give you a bunch of gloves to put them in)<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by caraMel</span>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=19393">MrsMojo</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 19621<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 30 July 2008 at 9:10am<br /><br /><P>Sometimes you need to be cruel to be kind Kaz.&nbsp; </P><P>Firstly run a warm bath (make sure it's not cold&nbsp;and not hot).</P><P>Then put the pamol in a syringe, sit on the couch and lie her across your lap.&nbsp; Put your thumb and forefinger of one hand behind her molars to force/keep her mouth open.&nbsp; Get the syringe as far back in her mouth as you can and squeeze the pamol down her throat so she has to swallow.&nbsp; Give her lots of cuddles and then climb into the bath with her.&nbsp; </P><P>When Michaela had a really high (borderline dangerous) temp about a month ago I did this and her temp came down to 37 (from 39) in about 30 mins.</P><P><IMG src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley31.gif" border="0"></P><P>&nbsp;</P><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by MrsMojo</span>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=4889">Kazzle</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 19621<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 30 July 2008 at 9:05am<br /><br />I have just taken Rhiannons temp under the arm and it was 37.5, and i know i need to add .5 so its probably about 38....her base temp is 35.5....but i cant get her to take any pamol.<br /><br />she jsut will not take it....and i cant it into anything as shes not interested in food, (drinking loads of water).<br /><br />I do have a doctors appointment at 3.30 but she is so miserable and barking like a seal, and she is also losing her voice.<br /><br />I dont know how to make her feel better., pls help <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0"> ]]>
