Safe travels Mel, I hope you have a wonderful send off for your Nan.

I am at home again today. I went to the doctor yesterday because I am not really coping very well at the moment. I am not depressed as such but have got high anxiety and feel like "the edge" is coming closer than it's ever been before so I wanted to see the doctor before it became worse. She was really great which was such a relief. I was scared I'd go and she'd just say I was hormonal and pregnant and that's what happens.
So I've been given some sleeping tablets so hopefully once I get some more sleep things will get back on an even keel but she's keen to try and sort things out with little steps.
So she gave me a doctors certificate to be off work this week but I'm going in for a half day tomorrow as I have a combined choir rehearsal out of school so really need to be there. Work seem to be ok, I was up front and honest with them yesterday when I knew what was going on but we'll see when I'm there tomorrow.

I have not taken jake before and thought now he is running and climbing everywhere he might enjoy it?

When do kiddies start to talk? Jake has stopped saying Dada and just says Der when he see/wants DH but has started saying Mum but normally its kind of Mer...

He does say "oh dear" but thats it... Maybe he is like his dad and not much of a talker????

Mom arrives on my due date so I hope the little guy decides to wait until after mom gets in from the airport

Hahaha Sarah we had our 15month jabs on tuesday and fireman Sam came out and i thought I was going to cry cos she was so upset from the first jab. the next 2 werent as bad.
Sam has had tonsilitis so have been on the low and just looking after my wee poppet and she is now sooo much better.
nothing much to report here apart from that Sam has just started to walk a few steps and can she her frustration everytime that she falls down. I am sure that she will master it soon.
Mel i hope your belly is growing nicely too and we should catch up soon

Thought I'd let you all know that we had our scan on Monday and found out we're having a boy
We are both stoked and hadn't realised how much we both had hoped it was going to be a boy without saying out loud or really realising that's what we were thinking so strongly.
So I went and bought my first blue things on Tuesday and will start selling our mountains of pink things on Trade Me once I've finished painting the entrance way (have completed the lounge and dining room so far) and made a photo album for Mum for her 60th birthday. I'm notorious for starting projects but not finishing them so I'm determined to have patience and get the other things done first cause there isn't any rush really.

How are you going Clare? You must be due really soon if you haven't had the baby already.

heya my boy was born april 17th 09. Hes my third child an third son lol. I hada plannd hmebirth wiv th best midwife eva! Afta a 4hr labour had he was born weighing in at 10pounds, 3oz. Hes nw 14mounths an 11.6kgs. Crawled at 5months,wlkd at 9mnths. Nw hes runing,jumping an climbing. You will still have time with Q when baby is sleeping. I found it hard to have time with just Sophia for quite a while. She's a bit of a mummy's girl now so I guess I did something right!

As for introducing new baby. I found that Charlotte was still very much in her own little world and was quite independent (she was a bit older than Q will be though) so she didn't really pay Sophia much attention. I was lucky having DH at home so even before Sophia was born and I was just huge, if Charlotte wanted something I would send her to DH to ask so she was kind of used to that once Sophia got here.
I think in some ways it's easier if they're younger because they don't have the capacity to think along the lines of mummy doesn't love me as much any more etc. But since I am definitely not an expert I might be asking pointers from you guys in December when I'm trying to get Sophia used to the new baby

Any time you want a catch up just call out cause I'm always keen. I think now that we have babies on the move it's easier at someones house where it is set up for little ones. I feel the same I'm going to miss my time alone with Quinn and wishing I was going to have some one on one with his Little brother. it's been ages and Q is running eak!! I have six weeks before his little brother arrives so it's pretty full on we are moving in ten days (moving just before birth seems to be a trend groan) but all seems well any tips on introducing the little one to Q I hope all is well with you

Yes we do have meetings. You need to attend one planning meeting a term and one centre meeting a term. You also need to do two levels of training - C1 has 3 night talks and C2 has 6 night talks.

For me, its somewhere to go where the girls can play, get messy and do what they want (without it being in my house ). I also have some good friends there so I don't mind being on session as I get to chat and have fun the same goes for the meetings. I drop Amelie off there now too so she goes 4 times a week and Tilly and I go twice - gives me a bit of alone time with Tilly and it only costs me $50 a term. Its really all about the people there though - i visited one PC and hated it then went to Torbay and loved it and it was all done to the people I met on my visits.

I'm at Torbay PC. Not clicky at all - its very cruisey. You just do your duty once a week and then turn up for play days. There is other stuff like jobs etc to do but you don't do it for the first few terms when you start and if you have a new baby you'll be on maternity leave for a term anyway.

It was my lifeline when Tilly was born - it forced me to get out of the house and it meant Amelie had a good time so if that was all that we did in the week I knew that I had given Amelie some fun! Tilly was good there too - just slept in her pushchair in the first few months (there was a baby room though but Tilly liked the sun) and then when she got bigger she would come with me or someone else would look after her so I could spend some time with Amelie. Tilly loves it now - she knows what she wants to do and waves to me and is off. She's into dress up now - crazy girl!

You'll get three free visits so see whether you like it or not. I've just spent over an hour picking up clothing and crap that my DH has left all over the house- they are more work than the two girls!!

On a funny note - I've spent this rainy day planning a birthday party for Lambdoll and Ladybug doll - I've wrapped presents, pass the parcèl and even made and decorated a cake! Finished the party off with balloons and banners for when DH got home and he had a party. ha ha im on my own for he nex 2 weeks as the old boy has gone to kawau iland, and i dont fancy being on a boat with a one year old in this weather!!

well yep we were up from 4am till 5am then i gave up and into my bed she went for a sleep for a hour, little toad is sooooo playing me ha ha my girlfriend(i call supernanny) has told me if she doesnt hae a temp or isnt sick check on her once and leave her to cry it out eeekkkkk so will give that a go tonight onwards.
ive started walking for ahour in the avo when she gets all titchy and doesnt want a sleep so she has a chance to fall asleep in pram or just stay awake up to her. ha ha
well got to fly hubby is sick with tummy bug, (murphys law) i said to him last night "arent we lucky we havent had tummy bugs since dusty was born) " then he wakes up to full on coming out both ends at 1am man did i jinx us or what ha ha

Yeah, hi Tarns!

Jake is tottering, he does a few steps then falls on his butt.

Jake does the screaming, night or day, we think its seperation anxiety tbh. During the day he refuses to sleep in his cot and if he does he only sleeps for an hour otherwise he sleeps on the lounge for 2-3 hours.

During the night it comes and goes but he can sleep through or he can wake upwards of 5 times a night and scream himself into hysteria. Those nights we end up bringing him to bed with us and sleeps for the rest of the night...

welcome back Tarns..... we have missed you but then again we have seen some very cute pics of Dusty on FB.
I feel for you re the waking up at night time especially screaming. i havent had this issue for a long time but found when Sam did it, she had a sore tummy and seems like its tomatos that does the trick.
i so know that it is a guessing game as Sam is just like that! FULL ON!!!!
we are still not interested in walking yet which is fine by me as she is pretty fast on her knees! She does walk with her trolley which just cracks me up

WE are all good Dusty is FULL ON !! no wonder i havent been on here like for ever!!!
SHes been walking since 10months or a bit before, and she is dynamite maybe all kids are but WOW she keeps me busy. Her dads been on acc since Feb so we have enjoyed having him home (sometimes its hard im sure you all understand) so we hae been struggling financially and trying to stay on top of the bills etc, selling our house and thinking of moving back to the north shore or HBC. Happy 1st bdays to all you lil special bubbas loved seeing some of the cakes on here WOW what talented mums we have i will have to try an rembmer how to post a pic and put mine up, ha ha i did a toadstool from the Aust womans weekly, awesome cake book i tell ya.
well i have to fly and get this over tired minx to bed since she was up most the night crying (why?)
and yes the full nights sleep still hasnt come for me yet she wakes a couple times a night to scream and after a hour i have to give up an go in man i tell ya i have tried all methods, has anyone had this problem?
or do i blame teething for the night waking and screamin for the past 4 months? grr ha ha ha she does only have 5 teeth so thats what i have been blaming it on, o man god only knows aye kids are like a guessing game and sometimes its easier just to ride the wave then rack my brain to figure out whats wrong.

Hmm Jake has had a high temp (got to 38.6 last night before the pamol kicked in) and its still hanging around though the drugs seem to be keeping it at bay for about 6-8 hours so not too bad.

You amaze me Nikki, you have been through such a huge year and you have handled it all so well! You and your boy are both a big inspiration!

Jake is nearing the walking stage, much like him learning to crawl, he seems to be taking his time LOL He has pulling to standing since 10 months, walking around furniture a week later, standing unaided for few seconds 2 months later and last week started to move between furniture.. but not walking kind a throwing himself LOL

I say within the next four weeks he will be taking steps. He has been walking holding hands since christmas and walking holding one hand for about a month but he just wont do it on his own, lazy boy

No hurry though, he crawls fast enough I dont want to contend with running right now LOL

Jacob is showing no signs of walking yet, he seems very happy to crawl. He also loves to stand against the coffee table, but then doesn't know how to get down. I'm happy for him to crawl for a bit longer, he is so much happier being mobile.

Its now safe to say that he's finally eating!!! Just small amounts (probably a few tablespoons of pureed food for lunch and dinner), not enough to get him off his tube, but at least he's going in the right direction He'll also try any pureed food and have a go at lumps, but still finds it difficult dealing with lumps in his mouth. DH doing okay. Another week of hospital appointments with no real decision made of what to do next. So another scan it is and then who knows ... we just live from day to day. Fingers crossed we get a clear scan and can go and have a life for 6 months!!!

Tilly doing terrible day sleeps too - about an hour and she wakes. So i'm letting her scream it out today in the hope she does another hour. She can't last from now till 7pm!!!

17 weeks MelNel - thats crazy! Are you finding out what this one is? So exciting!

Yup bubs here is going well.. Lots of little roly poly's and karate kicks going on inside!

LOL Jake one sleep is anywhere from 1.30 to 3 so totally out of sync with everyone else LOL he too is only doing and hour or so... guess some just dont need as much sleep.

We should do a catch up soon! I dont mind if Jake flags one nap every now and then so we can do an afternoon... if we do it here he could always crash out if need be?

I read the post too late for the catch up and we seem to have joined the 1 sleep a day club but we are still trying to get into a routine of when that sleep will be and for how long! At daycare she only sleeps for 1-1/2 hours and they seem to think that is good but it doesn't seem enough to me.

Sophia has another bout of hand,foot and mouth so is pretty miserable at the moment. We are keeping her drugged up and hopefully it'll clear up soon. We had about an hour of screaming and writhing this afternoon which was pretty tough. Other than that she is a really happy, mischievous baby!

#3 is going well. I had a couple of week of really feeling rotten and ended up getting anti nausea tablets which helped. I haven't taken them since last Thursday and I'm feeling a whole lot better which is great but doesn't seem right since I'm only 9 weeks. It's a shame that when we're sick we want to be better and when we get better we just worry!? I an meeting our midwife on Friday. I think that will make it seem very real. I have been telling people and that helps the 'reality' of it but it does seem strange to think we'll have a new baby before Christmas and that will make Sophia a big sister

Hi there - we're done to one sleep a day too - I try and stretch her out till 12:30 but sometimes she is just too much mischief! Sorry I can't make morning catch ups either as I'm usually at Playcentre with the girls.

Tilly is getting there with the walking - about 7 or 8 steps now. Will just stand up from sitting down and keep trying to walk longer stretches. So cute!

sucky... i saw this message and then i typed a nice big long message and it failed to post. i couldnt be bothered retyping at that time...woops! Sam now sleeps from 10am -1230/1pm so cant really make those times for catch ups as we only want to sleep once in the day so need to let her sleep!

Sam isnt interested in walking yet but will sometimes walk holding my hands which is soooo cute.

Blake the last 3 nights has started screaming in the bath! He usually loves the bath but hasnt wanted a bar of it the last few nights...what to do?? Shall try the shower tonight or have a bath with him as he hasnt been keen on showers.
Well Blake and I are off to england in 3 weeks hopefully the volcanic ash cloud has resided by then, just cant wait will mean most of my family will finally get to meet Blake...

thanks Nikki for that idea... i will give it a go tomorrow night. we had a birthday lunch with DH and his family then ONE of Sammi's boyfriends had his party as well so we only had one nap and was rather tired. however we still performed when it was bed time. it was only 1/2 hour and i am thinking it is a seperation thing going on as i just sat at the door and she went to sleep. i do hope this goes fast cos i cant be sitting at the door all night can I! fingers crossed it zooms by,. i will however try warming the bed up.

Huggles, hope things improve quickly for you. Both my boys love to go to bed when I've warmed the bed with a wheat pack. My oldest son then likes to cuddle up to the wheat pack to go to sleep (the wheat pack remains at body temp if kept close). Maybe you could try that? Otherwise it sounds like a separation issue. Hope everyone is well. I am having great battles with Samantha to go to sleep after been such a good sleeper. I went to a wedding last Friday and she staed at the MIL friday night. She woke 5 times that night even though at home she sleeps through but I think it was cos she was cold. Now she just screams everytime that i put her to bed. we are getting a banana cake made by my friend who makes cakes in the shape of a chicken. I will post a pic on sunday, (born easter sunday last year so thought would carry on the theme)
