Take note though that ALL the online calculators with IRD are 'presuming' you are working it out from the BEGINNING of the financial year. It does not state this online, but this is how it is calculated, NOT from the time you are inputting the information. I was caught out by this, and afterwards a staff member at IRD said this happens alot.

Just phone IRD and ask for forms to be sent out for family tax credit. It's just the regular working for families (WFF) form I would think. Then they work out if and what you are entitled to from that. Can't make any sense from the website, helpline etc. So I've come to the experts..... MUMS! I am a solo mum to be (3 weeks) currently on Paid Parental Leave. Am I entitled to any IRD tax credit support PRIOR to returning to work?
