You would only need to top your boosters or inserts with microfleece (or any other stay dry layer) if they were laying next to baby's skin. If they are going inside a pocket then you don't need to top them with microfleece as you will have microfleece lining within the nappy itself (to make the pocket).

I'm not sure if booster is the right word. I was told to add an extra layer on top of the soaker to draw more moisture away from the baby and into the soaker??
So, can I use that 'additions' stuff as my top or 2nd layer? Or should I order more microfleece from greenbeans? Oh, they are pocket nappies BTW

Microfleece and polar fleece are different - polar fleece is thinker. Microfleece is used to line nappies - you can cut it up and lay it inside your nappy (layer closest to your baby's skin) and it will keep their bottom dry - liquid will pass through but not absorb. A lot of modern cloth nappies have microfleece already built in as a top layer.

Are you looking at the fleece you can buy at Spotlight? It is called Little Additions if you are.
Microfleece doesn't absorb so wouldn't be suitable as a booster - it is used as the 'stay-dry' layer in nappies or you can use it as a liner.
