Lucky you Emma going to Sydney for Easter - bummer about feeling awful though! Hopefully you will perk up a bit before you endure the plane trip.

Have you taken Maya to the Royal Easter Show in Sydney before? I looooooove the show and am about to have my 2nd anniversary of not going to it

I am sooo looking forward to Easter so we can spend some time together, my husband left this morning and won't be home until next Thursday from Kuala Lumpa!

+ you gotta love the free for all with the choccy eggs you can guts cause you are just meant too! Choccy for breakfast lunch and dinner!

I do love Good Friday too for the fish and chips and calamari (yummy). Not that I am religious at all; there is still that little catholic voice in my head saying "no meat". Again just a good excuse to eat what we shouldn't!! I think I also just have some really nice childhood memories of my mum making really special homemade fish and chips.

I'm a bit sad actually - my mum is turning 50 at Easter, but she's having her party down in Wanganui so I won't be able to go    We're going to have our own party when I go down to Wellington a couple of months after baby is born - will take her to Logan Brown or some wonderful restaurant. I know that Darryl Lea has marshmellow eggs, but they are a little pricey. they have the BEST other easter egss though.

My aunty always has to take marshmellow eggs back to Oz with her every easter for her friend who was here one easter and tried them and is now hooked. I'm apparently going to Australia. I thought I had put my foot well and truly down about staying home this year, until Mum rang me and told me she had made bookings. Naughty mother I have! So it looks like Maya and I are going to stay there for 10 days. Which would be nice, except I am so sick and yucky atm that all I want to do is curl up in my bed and stay there.

Maya will love it tho - she loves my parents place. And I am going to do an Easter Egg hunt for her. I also got her one of those plate and cup set thingies for the same reason as Janine.

Big thing this easter is that Maya will be allowed to have normal easter eggs for the first time EVER! we might have the MIL here, going to go out for dinner with my family on easter sunday, and mainly just have a cruisy time together, as Partner has been travelling alot lately.

of course Im starting to bake up a storm this weekend making hot cross buns, and also dyeing eggs too and making a dairyfree one so I can give Laura a teeny bit lol.

We're also going down on my staff travel (I'm a travel agent) so that means we're on standby (it's Sarah Beth and her hubby who we're going with). Don't be too sure about Jack not being excited about easter hunts Jacksmum - i think Paris was about the same age as he is now, last easter, and she had sooo much fun. we got a pack of solid choccy bunnies from the warehouse (i think they're called funny bunnys, $3 for a pack of 10) and then while i was getting her dressed easter morning, mike went and hid them - but left about 1/4 of it in plain sight, peeking out from the hiding place - and since they're in bright packets, she took a tiny amount of coaxing, but after we had shown her one she was off!

We decided that we would get each of the girls one of those sets from warehouse that has a bowl, spoon, cup and egg cup in it as well as 2 easter eggs. we got a my little pony one and a bvarbie so they can mix and match and swap as they please. Ayja is a bit little for chocy really (although i am sure a small amount WILL find it's way into her possession thanks to daddy and aunty) and paris - well - she would eat it all day if there was no reason to stop, so i thought rather than encouraging a huge gorge session that will ultimately end in hyper-child or sicky-mess child.. i would get something they could both use. Am sure my sister and mum will spoil them rotten as they usually do anyway.

We are going to my big sister's house this year - both her children are older and don't do the easter bunny thing - so i am hoping they don't go overboard with trying to "not spoil it" for paris.. cos she has a very simple understanding of the idea of it, and they usually tend to put all sorts of ideas in her head about things anyway. xmas when they stayed actually got so complicated.. they were talking about heaps of things about santa, and Paris was looking as if to say "what the hell are you on?!"

oh yeah Jacks mum, haven't had time to dig out that recipe but will send it off either later tonight or tommorow morning to you.

We are off to my partners parents for easter where I will make a hunt for our nephew and then relax for the rest of the time.
I am starting a tradition and have decided that I am going to buy Xanda a book for easter every year and has he gets older he can help choose the book. we won't be doing anything either. hubby will be working the sat and mon so that kinda spoils it!
will most likely hide jacks eggs around the house and have a hunt, but don't think he'll really be into this year, maybe next.

We're toddling off down to Dunedin with friends of ours. I'm planning on doing as little as possible and making good use of the indoor pool!

We'll be flying down on Dunedin but will be headed to a service on Sunday so really looking forward to that!

I always dye my own hard boiled eggs, make hot cross buns and I have a lovely recipe for muffins with little choc. easter eggs inside nd rabbits made out of Marzipan on top!! I loooove easter. I always decorate the house and put a wreath on the door... I think I like it more than xams!!

We have rented a bach up the kapiti coast with mum, her partner and my little (18yo) sister for a few days. Should be lovely!

Just thought we could share our easter plans - and also any neat ideas of things to do for the kiddies - how you celebrate with your kids... might give us some new and exciting thigns to try with our little ones to make the day-of-chocolate more special.

I remember mum used to make home made marshmellow easter eggs, and let us help dip them in the chocky. Am thinking this year of letting Paris help me to do that so she can give her friends some specially made eggs she has made herself - and save the expense cos it's not that costly to make large amounts.
