I just worry because of the fact that my dad and aunty were both born with hearing and started losing it progressively as children. Anything that could potentially damage their ears stresses me out, I don't want that to happen to them!

Her one about 4 weeks ago then got reinfected two weeks later. She's now fit as a fiddle again, one more month until Spring!

They came out last winter one was still in and the ENT took it out). Straight after that he got ear infection after ear infection so I went back to our ENT privately and he got them put back in November last year. Our dr here things that one may have fallen out already but he couldn't be sure as there was a wax build up around it.

Do they still have the grommets in? That is so sucky that they're having problems again so soon!

We did this after Mercedes second ruptured ear drum and I don't regret it at all.

Poor lil Ella, I totallyfeel your pain, two weeks ago Mercedes ear was so bad the specialist was debating admitting her to hospital, we finally got it sorted with mega doses of augmentin and what happens? Sienna's ear starts leaking! Gah! I am sooooo over ears!

    Author: caraMel
Subject: 19798
Posted: 04 August 2008 at 2:49pm

I'm so bummed, Ella has another bad ear infection.
Her second in just over a month, her third this year.
She woke up with a bit of a cough yesterday but was fine in herself. We got home around 5.30 and she crashed, complaining of a sore ear, sore throat and sore eyes. Her temp was right up as well.
Dosed her up and put her to bed where she slept fine all night.
This morning she was a lot brighter but I took her to the docs anyway as her ear still looked red and now she's on a different type of antibiotic for it.
Can anyone advise me as to what's 'normal' regarding ear infections? I know 3 infections in 8 months isn't really a lot but I'm a bit paranoid about the damage they may be doing as my father is now profoundly deaf and his sister also has very little hearing, having lost it progressively since childhood.
I am SO over winter and its stupid, stupid bugs! DH and Benjy are STILL snotty and coughing after we all got the flu 6 weeks ago, Ella's already had one cold since then and now she's sick again. We eat truckloads of fruit, they have a multivitamin, and yet they still seem to pick up everything going round at the moment.
Ok, whinge over now.
