aw! that sux, im so sorry that happened to my hubby once the week before christmas a few years back- we had just cashed a cheque and dont normally carry cash- his wallet got pinched wasnt a happy christmas. we did get the wallet back like you but with all the cash missing.

DH took out $100 at an atm in town then popped into a shop to buy a chocolate bar.  When he came out again some guy bumped into him quite roughly and shortly after that DH realised his wallet was missing.

 

He retraced his steps thinking he might have dropped it but couldn't find it anywhere so he went to the police station.  This was about an hour ago. 

 

10 mins ago the police station rang to say his wallet was found.  A street cleaner found it about 50 metres away from the starmart (in the opposite direction to where DH had walked).  Most of the wallet was untouched but the notes section was cleaned out, all of DHs money, his train tickets and our wedding photo are gone.

 

The police say that it is common with pickpockets to do that, they grab the notes as quick as they can and discard the evidence (i.e. the wallet).

 

I'm so annoyed.  What kind of bastard does that!!
