We later found out he was A- so I didn't require anymore anti D shots. It is just like having a normal jab in the butt, you will have to give consent for it as it is classed as blood products.</P>]]>

I had the anti d after all three deliveries, plus once during my pregnancy with the gremlins after a bleed at 25 weeks, and once during my pregnancy with Chiara after a bleed at 14 weeks, and after my m/c. I didn't have it after my first m/c but didn't develop antibodies.]]>

As for being o-neg I'm gunna make hubby donate blood so we can find out what blood group he is. The health department are looking at giving Anti-D injections to RH- women at 28 weeks, 34 weeks and after delivery.  I went through a MW who did everything by the book, but have heard that some OBs give Anti-D injections at 28 weeks and 34 weeks anyway.  Shame I didn't know about this earlier, as we would have definitely gone through an OB.  Unfortunately, it means that we are going to have a very high risk pregnancy with #2.<br /><br />How do you become infected with cytomegalo virus?<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by NikkiB</span>]]>

It's part of they ante-natal screen so I'm sure your midwife would tell you if you were as well. Most people are CMV reactive which means they have had it in the past and have developed antibodies. But I am negative which means I have never had the virus  <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0"> It's kinda like not being vaccinated against rubella. Just sucks for me cos I work with babies so have to be extra vigilant with hygiene so I don't catch it. I'm SO paranoid! ]]>

As for the o-neg, Dr said it can affect future pregnancies and may need anti-d injections. Anyone else in this situation? ]]>
