Well I managed to squeeze it in the washing machine without too many dramas. Although I can still smell the vomit on the patch that copped the most of it. I'm not sure of the best way to wash the foam mattresses but I frequently have to dry the foam mattress for the dog kennel when it gets wet (which at the moment is every couple of days)

I normally squeeze the excess water out the best that I can and put it on the airing rack with the dehumidifier and the pedestal fan blowing on it, if it's really wet it helps to have one end lower than the other so you can keep squeezing out the excess water. If it doesn't fit make up a bucket of napisan and water and pour it over it and leave to soak and then hose it down outside. I wash ours in the washing machine. It's stayed intact so far and I've done it quite a few times.

those foam portacot mattresses? My friends son puked all over ours last night. The care instructions says to remove cover and machine wash, then sponge the inner with mix of water and mild detergent. But my cover is sewn on and can't be removed and I'm worried that just sponging it all won't get right into it and clean it properly. And there is nothing worse than the smell of puke    Help please
