Just on finding a feeding chair/gliding chair/rocking chair etc etc etc I have been searching now for a month and a half (solidly!) and the Sally Chair from Farmers seems to be a nice option, they are $199 brand new. I wanted a glider at first but seem to find none in this price range and TM has had some dodgy looking ones lately. I always used a couch to feed Ella on, as she was a long baby, and constantly kicked while feeding, so if I sat in a chair with arms, she'd kick against the arm and push her head up constantly, often latching off because of it. So a couch and a tripillow worked for us. Hiya. I never used a specific chair - I feed either on the couch during the day (with a tri pillow), or sitting on the bed we have in his room at night.If you do want a proper chair though, the Baby Factory in Onehunga definitely have them instore. Thank you all for your replies! Mazzy, I'll ask again at the Baby Factory - possibly the store I went into originally just didn't stock them....? And I guess even if I don't find one made for the sole purpose of breast feeding at least now I know a lot of people happily use an existing chair.....brilliant!

I'm going to go against the grain here and say buy a feeding chair if you want to - I got one and I *love* it. It has lasted me through two babies (second is only 3 months) and I use it all the time.   It's fantastic. DH uses it as his watching rugby chair because it has the pockets to hold his beer!
I like the foot rest that rocks with the chair and DD1 sits on it now when I'm feeding and she's just the right height to read to. She loves the rocking too. It's a really comfy chair.

We got ours at the Baby Factory though - not sure why they wouldn't be stocking it still?

I got a chair from farmers on special wasn't a nursing chair but was good cause you could 'bounce' it It has wooden handles and was comfortable for feeding - not so comfortable for falling asleep while feeding mind - wood digging in back lol.. but was great, Still have it but thinking of gettign rid of it... didn't cost too much either ($60 for memory)

I have bought a nursing chair off TM, Originally I used a rocking chair (the old fashioned type) but found the arms were too high and so was the seat so I wasn't sitting properly - something to think about when you buy something. I just use a normal armchair in Ella's room as our nursing chair- works well for us and since we already had it., didn't cost us anything.

Don't spend money on something marketted as a nursing chair, they are expensive!

We got a 2nd hand lazyboy from trademe for about $100 and it was fab. Really comfy and then later on once we have finished with using it as a nursing chair in the bedroom we can use it for other things.
