Caprece is odd and just stays under the blankets but we only stopped wrapping her quite recently so that could be why.

Jack would be all over the plave, we just had a heater on so his room was warm enough to not have blankets. He eventually started sleeping under the blankets well after he moved into his bed. When we put Xavier into a bed i decided to do away with the bag as well but he kept getting out and running around, when i put him into the sleepsack he couldnt walk properly in it so gave up getting up all the time
He worked it out eventually but since we moved house he cant reach the door handles so that contains him.
I found he was wetting through every night a few weeks ago and i got sick of washing the sleepsack every night so i stopped putting him in it, he still asks every night but with the heater on in his room (otherwise its a freezer in the morning) he gets too hot in the sleepsack. Andrew was just over a year when I got rid of his (he became too long for it). Josh didn't like his so went from wrapped to being totally free.

Taine wears sleep suits wit feet. they are nearly $30, but you can get them for nearly half that if you time the sales right. the one thing I don't like about them is that they re polar fleece and it just doesn't breathe well. Jake sweats a lot, so the sleep suits were terrible for him. Gremlins have just gone into beds and they are still in their sleep sacks. Like others have said, they are a sleep cue and they know that sacks = bed. That doesn't stop them taking them off when they get put to bed, but they don't keep blankets on and sleep all over the place so sacks are a good option. Elle is in a bed but still uses her go-go bag. She always asks for it if I don't put her in it, settles perfectly WITH it but finds it hard to settle withou it. She isn't much of a climber so hasn't ever climbed out of bed but does move all over the place at night during her long awake periods. She doesn't stay under blankets. I suspect I will need to buy a toddler bag soon. The rate Sam is going she will be in a sleeping bag until she is 18!
Everytime I go and check on her she is in a different position, the last time tonight she was sideways with her feet through the bars.

I stopped using a sleeping bag at the beginning of this winter when I couldn't find a winter one big enough (that I liked). I now use a fleecy sleep suit with feet so she has her jammies on then the sleep suit. I use it in much the same way as the bag but its got feet - and she can still wear it in the mornings once she is up and keeps toasty warm. We moved her into a bed last week and I find she is staying under the covers now. We are still using a sleeping bag for DD at night, if we try to pull a sneaky one and not use it she always asks LOL This is as well as her duvet, at least in winter. Ohhhh! I do that and it still doesn't work!! He is often either sideways or right up against the cot bars. Although I have only just this week stopped raising his cot and he didn't quite move as much when the cot end was raised but still enough to make blankets useless. When I said I move him every 5 mins thats while hes awake. Snap! I was wondering if Jack would ever sleep under the covers. He is in a sleeping bag now. Will stop using it in summer as it is merino winter weight but may make him a cotton one for summer.

I would be too scared of waking him if I went in and moved him every 5 mins. He is not a very good sleeper so I don't do anything that might wake him, especially during the day. Perserverance worked for us. When we got rid of the safety sleep we would go back in every 5 mins and put him where he should be, he eventually worked it out that was how he slept. He very rarely sleeps in weird positions. We use a sleeping bag during the day but not at night. During the day he is more likely to move about and its a good sleep cue for him. At night though, once hes put in bed he stays where we put him. just a couple of questions for everyone...

For those of you who use/d sleeping bags, at what age did you stop using them? Did it coincide for when they moved into a bed? For those of you who didn't/don't use a sleeping bag how on earth do you make them stay underneath the blanket/duvet?
