The more pg'cies you have the more likely you are to go into "false labour" - which is very frustrating!!

As for history, I think it usually does but not always. My girls were 2 days early, 1 day early, on the day... LOL - so all full term.

They will not induce you until you are over unless there is a medical need, and even then it depends how busy they are (sad but true hence why I will not have another new years baby - m/w wanted him out but the hospital was understaffed and therefore I had a difficult labour and Jack wasn't as healthy as he should have been).

I hope all is OK - like someone else said, is there a reason you're so anxious?

    Author: VannesaD
Subject: 20633
Posted: 03 September 2008 at 2:30pm

Hey Deez
My mw said having baby any earlier than 36 weeks is considered pre-term and therefore a premature baby. But as everyone has already said - babies have a good survival rate from 24 weeks onwards these days (just extra hospital time is required).

I've also been told that previous pregnancies don't really count for much as far as baby coming early or late as every pregnancy is different. The only time they look carefully at you is if you had any complications in your previous pregnancy and/or birth and they'll watch for the same this time around.

Also depending on age will depend on what your mw will suggest. Doctors et al don't like ladies older than 37 yrs going beyond 38 weeks for fear of stillbirths.

Other than that - these little bubbas will come when they're ready.

I'd love for this baby (#2) to come early.

As you are almost 32 weeks that is really good, heaps of a chance of her being in neo nates for a few weeks only. Maybe being on O2 for a bit too. 37 weeks is considered fullterm but even them they spend time in neo nates sometimes.

I would have a chat to your MW about your concerns.

Heaps more viable at 28 weeks and 37 weeks is considered full term. At 31 weeks you'd be looking at a long stay in hopsital, but probably with a wee fighter on your hands.

I think that there is little correlation between one baby and the next in terms of if they are on time, a little early or a little late.

Is there something in particular that is making you anxious? Have you discussed with your midwife? Hope all is ok!
