I talked to my obs about it but she said that they wouldn't do it in my case as my waters had ruptured once already. They were worried that he could be part way turned and my waters go again and he could get stuck transverse which is worse than breech, so we had an elective c/s as well.

We were given the option and after researching it on the internet and discussing with people here and IRL and talking to a specialist we decided not to go ahead.

For us the chance of failure (baby turning back around, tears etc resulting in needing an emergency c etc.) made it not worth it for us. But having said that I was ok with having an elective C-sect whereas I know other people really aren't.

As it turned out by the time they would have done the ECV on me there was too little fluid in there for them to have done it anyway.

we found out jack was breech at 37wks so tried an ECV.........it wasn't painful, just really really uncomfortable, definately not as painful as labour

Hi Mac30 My bubs is also breech I declined to have an ECV due to knowing someone that had one she said it was more painful than labour and ended up going into labour the next day and had an emergency csection anyway at 37wks. I also feel that bubs is in this position for a reason be it a short ambilical cord etc and I didnt want to stress the baby out by having someone turn it. My bubs has been breech for 8-9weeks now. Im having an elective csection next wed. Its a personal preference.

I was wondering if any one has had experience with ECV. My baby is breech at the moment and this may be an option for us in a couple of weeks. Am interested to hear some thoughts or experiences.
