Hungry Catepillar, Corduroy the bear ....Dr Seus 'In a people' house and Dear Zoo is a HUGE fave, he sits there and turns the pages as i read it to him and opens the flaps on cue. He knows that book off by heart (just can't read it back to me yet lol).<br /><br />]]>

They have some awesome books with different textures to touch. The pictures are really good. He even likes the fairies book from their range, so much so he saw it in the bookshop and wouldn't give it back so I bought it for him. ]]>

They are really fantastic.<br /><br />Basically 1yos like picture books with bright pictures that look like photos, not pastelly 2D boring looking pictures. They especially like things they recognise, so faces and animals are very cool. (Even if all the animals get called 'dog' <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0">)]]>

Also Dear Zoo is great.</P><P align=left>My mum also brought this book called Gallop for Ella. It was recommended in the carvas mag one time and is a scanimation picture book (when you open each page the image moves). Ella LOVES it. For about $17, you can get the boks in board book form which is perfect for wee ones.  the rhyme is great too.  We got our girls slinky malinky and schnitzel von krum.  as well as a bubble machine- so cool.]]>

They are 'proper' books (200+ pages long), so the parents have to read them out to the kids, but we've been doing that with DS since he was a couple of months old and he loves listening to the stories. </P><P align=left>They are a compilation of&nbsp;short stories, poems etc&nbsp;- including some classics that I remember reading as a kid, and heaps of newer ones. Many of the stories have&nbsp;great illustrations. </P>]]>

They live in Australia, so it would be cool if the books could be NZ orientated (eg about kiwi, sheep, pukeko etc), but not 100% necessary.<br /><br />Does anyone have some well-loved favourite titles I could go for? I would love some recommendations, as I was pretty daunted when I went to the book shop!]]>
