I wouldn't rely on it as contraception LOL but I think a healthy or otherwise diet has a factor alright.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=19393">MrsMojo</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 20894<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 14 September 2008 at 6:07am<br /><br /><P>I think that a healthy diet is best for you and your developing baby but if an unhealthy diet prevented pregnancy then there wouldn't be so many mouths to feed in 3rd world countries.</P><P>&nbsp;</P><P>Just to contradict that though&nbsp;I have a condition called coeliacs disease.&nbsp; Basically gluten (wheat, rye, barley and oats) is poisonus to coeliacs and consuming it leads to malnutrition because the stomach lining is damaged by the gluten and can't process food properly.&nbsp; It leads to all sorts of issues (lethargy, osteoperosis, aneamia, cancer etc) but also it can cause infertility issues and increased chances of miscarriage if coeliacs don't follow a lifelong gluten free diet.&nbsp; So in this instance a "healthy diet" (i.e. one that exclues gluten)&nbsp;can affect my chances of TTC, carrying to full term and having a healthy baby.&nbsp;</P><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by MrsMojo</span>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=207">Maya</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 20894<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 13 September 2008 at 10:00pm<br /><br />I'm kind of the opposite to that theory - it took me a year to get preg with the gremlins during which time I was running 5km 3 times a week and going to the gym 5 times a week plus eating super healthy and had lost 30+kg. <br /><br />It took one sneaky swimmer to get thru when I got preg with Chiara despite me being well overweight and completely and utterly unfit and eating a crap diet.<br /><br />It's definitely better going in to pregnancy fit and healthy tho, I recovered from the birth etc. so much faster when I was fitter.]]>
