But I really hope this is our year!

Sorry to hear about the PCOS Mindy. Great you can now get onto it though and I have read lots of successful stories so fingers crossed aye!!!
I hope that Clomid sorts it all out for you.

Boys are funny aren't they...their manhood is still intact if the swimmers are all good

Bree any news for you???

Of course I always do now!!!
Glad to hear they are putting you on clomid - I also started on 50mg and was very reactive to it. I hope it goes well for you and you have no side effects - I never have.
Sorry to hear you have PCOS - I dont have this (that I know of) so can't offer any advice, but I guess it's better to know and try and do something about it than not know!
I am in the TWW at the moment - 3rd cycle clomid, 4 follicals, told not to try but we did! First cycle 5 follicals no able to try. 2nd cycle 2 follicalc tried and nothign - so we throughwe would try this month! I have no symptoms at all - normally get a bit crampy and erect nipples between ov and AF but so far nothing - so not even sure if I ov'd - am just thinking now that maybe I didnt!!! I am getting back into my sport and not trying to think about babies - as I just really dont think this is our month... I think I am about day CD26 - so AF should be around CD31 - but I wont test till new year if AF hasn't showed up. Frustrating journey we are on!!!!
All the best for your clomid.

Flipsta how are things with you - I havent even checkd the TWW??

The Dr aggreed that I was most likely not ovulating and has put me on clomid 50mg for 2 months and then to have a followup appt in 2 months time to see how it is going. He suggested that I should have an ultrasound today and I thought that it was an abdo u/s for some reason, but apparently it was to be a trans-vaginal ultrasound with a darn probe The most embarrasing thing about that was DH was in the room as we both thought that it was abdo scan
*MENTAL NOTE TO SELF* always clarify these things prior to the event!!!!
Thankfully DH was standing at my head and not the other end! Though still embarrasing for all those involved Though the Dr didnt look too embarrased!!

The result was that I have def PCOS Dr saying that the u/s shows my ovaries look like swiss cheese with the contrasting. More blood tests today to check androgen levels, discussed my BMI which is 28 with a polite suggestion that i try to reduce it.

DH "boys" are ok and my other blood tests show that I have good ovarian reserve. So first step is clomid 50mg then if that fails then injections.

Unfortunately the u/s shows AF is on her Merry old way, though that means the sooner I can start my clomid.
And Worse still DH is happily repeditively telling me that his "boys" are all good....HELLO i was there!! And teasing me that my ovaries look the swiss cheese (Thanks Dr!) and that I'm a man cos my androgen levels may be high... well buddy if I am what does that make you?

I was in the elevator at work day before yesterday and felt 'motion sick' while going up 3 floors, then once I got out of the elevator and walking it felt like the floor was waving up and down for a minute or so....awful feeling- like a rolling earthquake but noone else seemed to notice it! Worried about triplets! So they halved my dose to 25mgs and that seems to be good.

If you are both keen I would probably go for it. I mean it is a small percentage of chance to get 4 or 3 and if you are cool with that then that is great. Like you say you tried with 3 and it didn't happen so you never know.

On the BDing I think the swimmers do need time to rejeuvenate so doing it too much doesn't really help I dont' think. Once a day is fine I think. We were told to try for 4 days in a row once we get our scan last month.

I knew I was ovulating last month due to lots of CM so we actually tried twice in one day and we still didn't conceive either!

I personally think it is best to not get too worn down with it or it will really start to become a chore. Once a day for a few days around OV time is all good.

I do the whole wait in bed for 30 mins and even put my legs up last time! I think waiting for a while before going to the loo gives the sperm a chance to get in and up the fallopian tubes.

I so hope we get an Xmas BFP as well. You have had a huge year and that would be really cool to end it with that.

Ah dear oh to have a crystal ball huh!

Had my CD11 scan today following bloods yest and I have 4 big follicals so FA expect ovulation in the next day or two. BUT we have been told not to try this month as risk of more than one baby! I am soo in two minds. This is our third month of clomid first month 5 follicals, not allowed to try, last month 3 follicals tried and nothing no BFP and this month 4 follicals and not allowed to try. As well as it costing each month to do clomid whether we are allowed to try or not, its still an expense! I am really keen to try, it is a 1% chance of 4 babies, 5% chance of triplets and 20% chance of twins - IF we do concieve. Given with 3 follicals all good size last month we still didnt concieve I think we should try.....whats your opinion?? DH keen as well!

Another ?! Sorry if this is TMI. Last month we BD every day around ov - missed one day only and still nothing. Given the first time we concieve (ended inmc) I was on the pill..I thought BD daily would be good, but it still didnt work. Should we BD more? My poor DH as much as he wants a baby (even more than me!) he finds the "pressure" to perform hard and doesnt help this weekend he has a big race (triathlon) so he's really not in the best frame to BD - BUT does want a baby.
Last month after BD I would lie flat on my back - unsure if this makes any diff as normally I am up off to the loo - but (sorry TMI) a lot drops out? Does anyone else have this??I am worried we are loosing all the sperm! Appreciate any tips!!
Have a lovely day

I was going to ring FA, but guess they cant really do anything so have just thought I'll try ignore it! I also get a certain smell around ovulation time and notice this again! Given I am CD7 unsure it's ovulation!!! Who knows?
Hope you are well.

But reality has set in now and I figure that next month we will be testing around Xmas time...so could be a fantastic pressie! Lets hope you and I both!!

This is my 3rd cycle of clomid as well - so fingers crossed for us both! What dossage are you on?

Like you we thought of taking this month off, but decided we will do a 3rd cycle and see what happens! I am going (to try!!) and relax a bit more, enjoy the odd drink over the festive time and go back to doing my sport - which I have stopped for most of this year to try and concieve. So am going to try and not have pregnancy as the sole focus!
We will see how easy that is!?!?

Today my DH and I purchased our first investment property - so just mortgaged ourselves up (we did budget for baby though!!). We have been putting off purchasing an investment property all year thinking we would become parents, so murphy's law - we purchase a house and get pregnant! I'm hoping!!

I have a few friends that have gone through IVF and other things to get their BFP's.

One set of friends took 18 months to get their 2nd baby. They have a gorgeous girl now.

Another set of friends have been trying for 10 years to have kids. She had an ectopic pregnancy and nearly died and is now on another round of IVF. Boy am I hoping it works for them!

My brother-in-law took a year to conceive their girl. The blood test showed my estrogen levels, the scan showed the size of my and how many follicals and also showed my endometrium lining was thickening which they said was all good as looked like I would ovulate in a few days. That is when they said to BD CD11 - CD18. I have another blood test this Thur to see if I ovulated. Are you having clomid through a specialist of GP?

But won't get hopes up as it hurts too much. Progesterone go's up after ovulation and holds a pregnancy till hcg kicks in (I think) If it drops too early it can cause a misscarriage (which is why they are testing me), if no pregnancy it drops away and you know what shows up.......

I personally think the first cycle of clomid is a bit of trial and error - you dont know how you will individually react. My first cycle 50mg gave me 5 follicals so we werent allowed to try. This cycle 25mg and 2 follicals. Unsure if/when I ovulated, but having bloods on Thursday which I guess will confirm ovulation?? your prog level being 60 - is this good or bad? Sorry this is new to me. My CD have been 28 - 37 so I am hopefully you will still get the result you are after. How many follicals did you have? What has your specialist suggested?

A couple of other little follical looking things but he mentioned something about maybe polysistic ovaries - i've never been told this before. When I asked further questions I didnt really get answers (was a diff specialist doing the scan). Anyway, he then said I need another scan on Wed to see how they are going and if too many follicals then wont be able to try again this month - but then he said that my levels and the one follical looking good. So I really dont know where I am at. My DH and Iare going to BD every morning and night and fingers crossed - i really are getting desperate

I am 34 and DH is 38. My hubby had two sets of swimmer tests done a month apart and his doc said the motility and morphology were quite low so we rang Fertility Associates and had to wait for a month to see them. Once there the doc said that he was happy with his results, did a scan on me and was happy with that and thought clomid would be a good option before going down an IVF path.

He put it down to an unexplained infertility situation.

We were thinking we would go in and it would be all bad news so that was quite positive.

I was lucky enough that my period was due within a day or so of the appointment so I could start the clomid straight away although I had too many follicles last month so am on 25mg this month to see if I can get just 2 follicles.

When is your appointment?
Love to hear how it all goes.

Took first cycle clomid last month and 5 follicals - told to not try between CD10 and CD18 which we didnt. Prob is I dont know if I have or when I ovulated. Like you was a bit bummed I had eggs but not allowed to TTC. However CD29 now and no sign of AF although some PMS signs, whch can be BFP signs. Part of me (well all of me) is soo hoping for a BFP as just getting soo many BFN is really disheartning! Did they reduce your clomid for next cycle. Where are you at now... I wish you all the luck in the world.

I had to have proveria to induce AF and then clomid, I took it at night and didn't have any real symptoms. All I had was day 21 bloods to see if it was working, which it didn't the first cycle and only just the second cycle - but thats all it took . Best of luck to all ladies on clomid

I have just had my first cycle of Clomid 50mg, taken day 2-6. I took just before bed - no side effects at all. Went for blood test at CD10 and estrogen levels 2000. Next day had scan and 5 follicals so we were told not to try this month as too high risk of multiple births. So next month clomid again but reducing to 25mg. I am CD 22 now, unsure when/if I ovulated as I have irregular cycles! We've been trying for 1 year, first mc at 10 wks and 2 mc at 5 wks. Its hard, but fingers crossed for all of us ladies here for BFP. Keep me posted on how you go on the clomid. Is this yoru first?
