My DD has waxy ear too...and my doc said the same thing, put a couple of drops of warm olive oil in her ear for coouple of days and the wax will come out to the top...then just clean!! My doc says the only problem with it is that if there is an ear infection they won't be able to see it because of the wax. She suggested putting a couple drops of olive oil, I assume to help soften it and it will come out.
I had a wax build up the other week and as too lazy to go to the doc so I bought the Audi Clean stuff from the chemist which worked well. I live in the Waikato and there is a mobile ear clinin(free) that cleans your kliddies ears. Yeah Benjy has really waxy ears too. I have asked about it a few times but doc has always assured me it has nothing to do with infections or hearing loss. I'm a bit paranoid because my father and aunty are both profoundly deaf.

Spencer has tons of ear wax. A few months ago I took him to after hours cos of a really bad cough which I was starting to think was a chest infection, it wasn't but at the time she checked his throat and ears, throat was sore and one ear was pink but the other ear drum she couldnt' even see cos there was so much wax. I have never tried to clear it out but do wipe away any than has come out into the lobe part of his ear. Is there anything I can use to clear some of the wax out? can they get their ears syringed or are they too young for that?
