I don't think you're mean.  I would've given her a drink & that's it.  I know if I was hungry at night I wouldn't eat, but have a drink and I'm sure that would do the trick.

 

And yay for being nappy-free!!  Great feeling isn't it!

but . . . when i was little i used to get water AND a biscuit like a superwine or something.

I agree - I am on the mean mummy bandwagon as well. No I agree with you, I wouldn't give snacks out at that time either...I think you're right in saying it could set a pattern!! She'll just have to learn not to muck around at dinner or being hungry is the consequence!

Men they are so soft. DH didn't think I should put Spencer in timeout when he bit me cos he was teething Think I know who is gonna be the mean one in this house.

I know. I am a proud mummy. She has been dry during the day for months and at nights for about 5 weeks so I took them off a week ago and its fine.

Clearly she was ready for it. She mucked around at dinner and despite warnings, didn't eat very much. She doesn't want her bottles anymore (yay) so doesn't even get one of those before bed so that is bound to have an effect.

I also won't give her much during the night, a sip of water or two - this is because she is out of night nappies totally now and I don't want to tempt fate!

I'm mean too.
I wouldn't let my kids have anything other than a drink of water at night if they woke up asking for something.

My DH is exactly the same G.  He thinks our daughter will starve to death overnight if I don't let her have snacks and sweets when she refuses to eat dinner.

She's probably growth spurting (again!) so I'd just make sure she eats a good dinner and pud, then maybe another snack with her milk before bed, or give her milo or complan in her milk to help fill her up for longer (which is probably what you already intend to do anyway).

DD woke up at 2.30am this morning complaining of being hungry. I refused to let her have anything to eat but DH thinks I am mean and should have let her have an apple or something.

My justification is that its 2.30 in the freaking morning and I don't want to set expectations that if she wakes at that time every day, I will feed her.

I reckon I am right. Am I wrong? Just curious what others would do?
