It always is a better idea to specify the details that explicitly have been asked by the person/ organization. I would recommend adding those details and being transparent.If you're not sure then getting some advice from somecv writing organizations could be a good idea.

Yup what Rianna said. When you are applying for a role that will have high interest the cover letter should stand out. The recruiters/managers are reading loads and you want to be remembered.

I think it also pays to mention why you want to work for them over any other company and why you want this job. Be enthusiastic as your CV wont show this.

When you write your cover letter it should focus on your strengths, skills and qualifications. It should also identify key points or words that the employer is looking for from the ad. With your personal info I would mention it becuase the ad is welcoming parents but only briefly. This is a sample that I give to my candidates:

Important key points to keep in mind:
· Clean white A4 paper
· Black or blue ink
· Typewritten unless handwritten is specifically requested
· Justify – No indenting of first line of paragraph
· No Commas between address details
· Arial, Tahoma, Verdana Fonts Only

Third paragraph should address specific selection criteria, if necessary:

· Use bullet points layout as its easier for the reader and stands out

Man just reading it through it sounds dumb!! But you get the idea lol. And I got an interview and the job so it must have been ok. One thing I do do is write something referring to that workplace. Like this school I wrote about values cos from looking at the website, that was important to that school. Another covering letter had something about cultural diversity cos that was a big part of that school. The guts of your letter should mention what job your applying for, why the employer should select you & how they can follow up with interview

I ususally write dear sir/madam when I don't know who it is to, and then sign yours faithfully.

Just put that you are writing in regard to the ad for *position*, you think it would suit you ideally as you have the relevant skills (maybe name some) and are looking to return to the work force after being a SAHM to your daughter. That you are able and willing to do some weekend work and then tell them you have enclosed your cv for them to look at.

I pretty much say:
Dear *name is best, but otherwise to whom it may concern is fine*
I'm writing to apply for the position of ...
I make sure I say why I would be great for the role (as in you are a fab nurse etc)
Then I say why I want the job - here is where I'd say about Isla, and working weekends etc.

Im applying for a job for the first time in like 4 years- havent worked for almost 2 1/2 years.

What should I include in the cover letter? How much personal details do u go into? The ad says the job would suit a person with a young family wanting to return to nursing, so should I mention Isla's age etc or is that too much?
It says the person will need to work ocassional weekend days and cover staff holidays, and Im fine with that, should I write that too?
