I use one on my 5 month old and I have def noticed that his checks are less rosey and he is less dribley when he is wearing it. I take if off for bath and bed. ive just bought a lovely yellow one from picopico.co.nz. very cute cant wait to test it out!
A friend of mine swears by them, sad i didnt know about them for Xavier. Yeah, Ella's comes off at night-time for her sleep but that's it.

Well, I'd first been using Ella's on her thinking that she was teething, but it wasn't teeth upsetting her at the time. I just bought one for Sophie yesterday and i was wondering if anyone can tell me about when to take it off?? The instructions/info thing says not to leave the necklace on when the baby is unattended - so do I have to take it off for sleep? Zebra, I think bubbas just get dribbly about that age - something to do with saliva glands.

I think my teething necklace was a waste of money - I got it (new) off trademe, and I'm not sure it was the real deal. We stopped using it and noticed no difference.

Just wondering when to start using it. $90 seems a lot. But then I thought $28 seemed too cheap too. The deal with beads being individually knotted is that if baby breaks the necklace somehow, only one bead will come off, rather than the whole lot running into their mouth.

For those that have them, if they are individually knotted does that mean that the beads don't touch? The mw that took our AN class sells them for $90, they are silk threaded and all the beads touch (apparently it is important for them to be able to rub together).

They always seemed too expensive for something that may or may not work but Jack just cut his first 2yo molar and it has been hard going on us all. Ours is lovely - bought off TM ($28 if I remember right), and I did some at-home 'check if it's real amber' tests that Bizzy had found online and it passed. Until then, I'd been a little sceptical, of course!
I can't honestly say if it's helped Ella teethe or not - she's onto her 2yo molars now, and I never know when one's pushing through or moving about as I barely see them (and she always drools anyway)! But it seems worth a try to me. Only problem is that they're too long - baby can easily get it into their mouth to chew, which isn't a great idea. I shortened Ella's by about 10 beads, which anyone who's handy with jewellery can do. The beads are all individually knotted so if it breaks none can come off.

The only problem we had with Leahs was that the clasp broke, I took it back and they exchanged it no problems. but the one we got was slightly bigger and too long so she could actually get it in her mouth, I stopped using it then.

They weren't around when my DD was little. I have seen a few babies wearing them. They look really cute.

Livvy hasn't had hers on consistantly enough for me to make a definite statement but my thinking was that if there is the possibility of it helping then it would be worthwhile. We very rarely have to give her Pamol though. And they look so cute anyway. You can get anklets for them too which are really gorgeous.

KA, Kiwimummy had one of the multi-coloured ones for Drew and I thought it looked really good for a boy. Amber possesses analgesic properties and when warmed up by the skin, releases them to the wearer.

I bought mine off russki1 on TM for about $28, which includes the authentication certificate as well. They come in lots of different colours, I got Jack the multi-coloured one and he looks like a wee surfer!

My boy is a terrible teether (poor tike got his first tooth at 4.5 months and had 8 by 8 months) and once I had bought the necklace I noticed a marked improvement in irritability. He still gets red cheeks (not as much though) and still drools, but he doesn't constantly grizzle which was the thing that used to do my head in. Plus the amount of pamol we have to dish out has dropped dramatically. Leah used one and had no teething issues at all, not even red cheeks or dribbling! I got my sisters boy one as he suffered a lot and she didn't even notice him he his first lot of molars!

The are supposed to work by letting the warmth of the skin help natural minerals come out of the amber and absorb into the skin to help with things like pain, you can also get them for adults that are supposed to help with any pain from breastfeeding.

Hi, I'm all for using products that help make life easier, so I was just wondering about people's experiences with teething necklaces.

I have read (on websites selling them) lots of positive things, but haven't actually known of anyone who has used one.

Are they useful? Do they actually work?
Has anyone bought one and then found it didn't work well for their baby?
