I stuck any that I could, ie the hard plastic ones, in the dishwasher. Then put the rest through the washing machine if I could or hand sponged. I handwashed all the cloth/fabric type toys with a bucket of water that had some washing powder and the canasten hygiene rinse in it, then rinsed them really well and dried them in the sun.

Admittedly I actually dunked most of them and then squeezed them out, even though they only said hand washed... they all came out okay! I just left them on a windowsill to dry in the summer sun for a few weeks, to make sure they were dry right through. They all smelt lovely and fresh and looked good as new. does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean second hand toys?   My sister gave me her little ones baby toys and as a few are cloth and say surface wash only I am wondering how to do it and what to use.
