I was sure I was taught not to put the extra s but it seems more common these days to do it.  I wrote it somewhere the other day and am just not happy with that extra s.  Thing is, I am going to have to teach him how to do it and then school will probably teach the other way....arrrggghhh!!!!

 

DJ...if there are 2 boys called Thomas I think they become the Thomases and as for how they own something I have no idea....preferably they each have their own and as Bizzy says, they just belong to them.

I think Thomas's bike, but if there were 2 boys called Thomas, if would be the Thomas' bikes.

I don't an extra s either (that's the way I was taught). It's not just for Thomas' and James' but it can also be for the likes of Mr and Mrs Peppers' garden etc.

I thought this too, and was confused when I came across "St Thomas's School". Apparently that's what the university scholars said was correct, so that's how it's spelt.

I have the same problem with James Niki I didn't know what to use so i just use ' instead of a 's probably doing it wrong though lol
