Yah Headlice......I remember my Mum shaved my hair off and I was like 6 years old....its because my Hair went all the way to my bum and I got headlice from school and mum just couldnt get them all out...or atleast she wasnt confident that she had...so out came my long long hair!!

I grew it back quite quickly tho!!

Unrelated, of course, but a Chinese friend at work shaved his baby girl's hair and eyebrows off for cultural reasons when she was just a little thing. My uncle was a single parent of two girls and had a really tough time doing their hair, keeping it brushed and tied up. Poor kids - they must have cold heads!!! It's not exactly tropical yet.

I got nits once when I was a kid and my mum washed my hair with kerosene. I'm either very lucky or my hair was rinsed extra thoroughly because no doubt Mum would have had a fag hanging out her mouth when she was drying and brushing my hair. Hmmm, Janayas never had them so I dont have too much experience in that area. Sounds like nits are a nightmare, especially if it results in shaving their hair?!

I would say prob hairlice. Christopher has had one bout of headlice and we just couldn't get rid of the little suckers and in the end we just shaved it all off and he hasn't ever had them again. I was thinking the headlice thing too - and with 5 kids trying to get rid of them would be an absolute nightmare, Its bad enough when my two girls get them!

The kids next door to my parents all had their had shaven. Theres 5 of em. 3 are Girls. One is not far gone 3. The kids across the road to my parents also had theres done a few weeks back.
