My friend had it really bad all over her legs. she has been rubbing organic coconut oil into them every day and has stopped eating pig products (which is aparently really bad for psoriasis sufferers) and it has completely gone! she has been suffering from this her entire life. My partner has just started do it too as he has it really bad on his scalp and underarms and it is already clearing up. I have psoriasis and during my pregnancy it pretty much cleared up all over my body, but flared up quite badly on my scalp. My dermatologist said it was fine to continue using what I previously used.

I use olive oil with 5% salicylic acid. You put this on overnight or for a few hours and this loosens it. Then in the morning I would put on dermol scalp application.

It works really well. It is a bit of a pain, but I tend to do it for 4 days in a row and that keeps it at bay for another month.

BTW you don't need a prescription for the olive oil plus 5% salicylic acid, and your doctor will be able to prescribe the dermol if you ask for it. Perhaps having a chat with your local Pharmacist would be a good idea. They would be able to tell you which treatments can be used during pregnancy. Its also my understanding that people prone to this problem should be very careful choosing hair products as many can make the problem worse.

Cheers Kitkat. I have a funny feeling that I changed my shampoo (bought the one on special) and then it flared up. Perhaps I just need to bite the bullet and talk to my B.therapist about a better quality product. My uncle has had it badly all his life- he gets it on his elbows and knees... He now takes 'Transfer Factor'', by 'For Life', and it has almost cleared it up. Im not selling the stuff btw- Im just amazed how well it worked. Takes time, and its not something you rub on- but imagine not having to?!! Just a thought anyways.
