With Joel they came to the house at 5 weeks and 7 weeks, then had a clinic visit at 11 weeks and I popped in to weigh him at 14 weeks as well and she got his chart out and checked his growth etc even though I was just doing a self weigh. I am next seeing them at 5 months, so we certainly got more visits second time around.

She was a bit better today so I will plod along and if things get worse I will phone the parents centre or health line.
Cheers guys, I realise some parents would be thinking I am crazy to worry about too much sleep when they can barley get their children to sleep an hour at a time...but I think that it is the quiet onse you need to watch.

I have found them really good - they ask lots of good questions and then make recommendations.

Jackson is quite similar though. Often he only wants to be awake an hour at a time, and I then usually have to wake him or he'd sleep lots. And, often when he is looking like he wants to sleep, I amp the playing up or put him on his play gym and he gets a second wind. Often that means he will stay up for an hour and a half. Two hours is our absolute limit.

Could be a growth spurt, some babies sleep more when they're going through a bit of a spurt (and she's close to 3 months when they're supposed to get one). When she is awake, is she alert and happy? And is she well hydrated, and giving you plenty of wet nappies? If the answer to those is yes, then there's most likely nothing to worry about, and you should enjoy it while it lasts! But if she's dozy all the time, grumpy or dehydrated, then you should probably get her checked out...
