That sounds perfect.  Then you go and talk to her and tell her how sad you are to leave them but how excited you are about spending more time with hannah an dhow much you love being a SAHM.  Then say here is the "formal" bit and give her the letter.

I'm definitely planning on going in to do it in person.
My boss knows it's coming, so it won't be a shock to her.
But my contract requires a letter, also.
So chances are she won't even read my letter, but for future reference I want it to be a goodie

I tend to start with "I'm sorry to inform you that I am resigning as of ...", then go into the more informal thing - reasons for leaving, what I've really appreciated about my boss/workplace.

Can you phone them or see them in person - that gives it a more personal touch.

Ok, so I've been putting it off and putting it off...
But I have two weeks until I absolutely HAVE to hand in my notice. I'd really like to do it tomorrow, before my bos gets completely frazzled by the pre-Christmas shopping rush.

I am struggling with what to write.
I've worked there for 5 years and have a good personal relationship with my boss, too.
So I don't want it to sound stuffy and formal, but still formal enough so it doesn't sound like I'm super-happy-and-over-the-moon (which I really am!!) to be resigning.

Help!!

I would REALLY appreciate any tips/ideas.
Or even, if you're happy to share, your resignation letters/templates, as guidance.
