Well the little rascal has given us another scare this afternoon ... I started feeling contractions, really far apart but definite tightening.. probably since I woke up this morning but took me a while to realise what was going on, they were that vague.

Anyhoo, off we traipsed to the hospital where they strapped me onto the monitors, laughed at how much bubs likes kicking away (the noise was deafening!) and gave me more drugs to slow the contractions again. They actually sped up (naughty baby) but then slowed enough for the nurses to decide that it was OK for me to come home.

So I am still having pretty mild contractions but looks like bubs is staying put for now at least. Next doctor's appointment is Thursday, let's hope the baby doesn't get too impatient before then!

I had Emma at 30w 6d gestation - I went into labour at 11pm and she was born at 3am the next morning. By the time we arrived at the hospital, I was too far into labour for it to be stopped. She was born naturally, waters broke at birth and she was quite a healthy weight - 2.23kg. She spent 4 weeks at NICU before she was discharged. She did really well and has done really well since too.
She's crawling at doing very well.
Having a prem is scary but at 31+ weeks the outsomes are generally really great.
Anyways, fingers crossed that bub stays in for you. Phoned mw (got back up as mine was having weekend off), she saw me and warned me I could go into labour etc etc and to take it easy and that my midwife would probably refer me to the hospital on the Monday to be checked out. I went to bed that night and started having mild contractions, then they got annoying so I decided to get up and have a walk around fully expected them to disappear but instead they got worse, I had to rush to the loo (tmi) and after doing my business I had another contraction and my waters broke completely. By 2am we were at the hospital where we then found out he was also breech. I was prepped for surgery and then all of a sudden the contractions just tailed off and stopped of their own accord. I was kept in hospital for 8 days, and 2 days into that stay contractions started, i was prepped again for surgery but it never happen and the next morning I was transferred back to the ward. I was then allowed home on bed rest but got admitted twice again because of more contractions (both times they started whilst at the hospital for monitoring. I got pretty sick of the birthing suites I can tell you.
In the end Spencer was evicted at 38 weeks exactly and had shown no real attempt to get out, he was just being a nuisance

I leaked water for the whole 3 weeks but the fluid level around him was at near normal levels at every scan. The fluid replenishes every 3 hours so the trickle that comes out with yours and babies movements isn't too much to worry about.

Really hope bubs hangs in there a bit longer for you.
Had Spencer been born at 34+6 they said he should have been able to breathe on his own but may have needed help with keeping warm and feeding.

At 30 weeks it was apparent Emily was going to be born early, so I had the steroid injection to help mature her lungs. She was born at 31 weeks (for other reasons) weighing only 1.35kg but did really well. Was on CPAP for a few days, and spent 4 weeks in NICU. She was discharged at only 2kg because she was doing so well and there was no reason to keep her in NICU any longer. Your bub has a good weight so it sounds like he will be fine if he has to be delivered now. My SIL was living in Singapore when her waters broke at 34 weeks. She had the steroid injection and he was born a few days later. Was on CPAP and oxygen for a few days and in NICU for (I think) 10 days. He did really well too and no problems. The hospital/NICU unit my SIL and nephew were in in Singapore were really good so it sounds like you'll be in good hands.

Was the outcome OK?? I'm trying to be positive and see each day he stays in as a bonus for getting bigger, but sometimes I get a bit freaked out that it's OK to be at home!
