I've had mine for a few months now and I have had pretty irregular bleeding so far- mainly just spotting really. I had pain around the time of insertion but nothing since. I've had one for 2 years now and my periods are mostly regular but very light. I have missed the odd one here and there though, but apparently that can be normal with the Mirena.
I also get a lot of hot, stabby pains with ovulation and pre-period. Apparently this is common too, but if it is really bad and lasting and uncommon for you with your Mirena, I would be off to the doc to get checked if I were you. I wouldn't want to mess around with that kind of thing, just in case it is something.

I have one and my periods are totally random and should really only be called spotting. I have done quite a few pregnancy tests from paranoia so just do one to make sure.
