You know I sustained those knocks to the tum everything is ok and then the other day hubby lent forward on his chair to let me past and it slipped and hit me hard enough to make me cry but bub is still fine so I wouldn't stress but try to keep out of harms way. Bubs is pretty cushioned in there... I constantly get kicked by Chloe while trying to change her as my arms seem to be growing shorter every day (and her legs longer) Last pregnancy I got a soccer ball to the stomach REALLY hard, and I had this huge painful contraction and it hurt like heck... got all checked out and bubs was fine. I was sure that it would have killed her!! It's hard for them at any ages to not be rough. It certainly helped me when I told Alia that she was hurting her little brother, once he was named it was much easier again.

If she is hurting me then I tell her & if she doesn't stop then I push her off or put her down etc until she can be nice. The worse is the chin in the bump, surprisingly that hurts.

Hi my sister had the same problem with her DS - he was 3 at the time she was pregnant with DD, and he was always jumping up on her to play etc. At 20 weeks she was lying on the floor when he came out of nowhere and jumped on her tummy, and it was with quite some force too. She went straight to hospital, got checked out, had a scan and bub was fine. I think the cushioning will be fine and you'll be hurt more than anything. I think the baby is pretty cushioned in there isn't he? My daughter is very active rough'n'tumble wee girl and in the past few weeks there have been several times when she's jumped up onto my lap and I've taken a knee, foot or elbow to my bump. 

The last knee to my bump, just above my pelvis, really hurt.  Should I be worried about the baby?  I'm not feeling regular movements yet so I can't use that as an indication that the baby's ok.

We're trying to teach her to be gentle and she's mostly good but she forgets sometimes when she's excited - often she's jumping on me for a cuddle and I feel so awful telling her off.  How have others managed to teach their older kids and/or protect their bump?
