Bank robber leaves behind his name and address

A bank-robber has been nabbed in the United States after allegedly leaving behind a note demanding money from the teller with his name and address printed on the back.

Thomas Infante of Illinois walked into a bank and handed over a note written on his pay slip which read "Be Quick Be Quit (sic). Give your cash or I'll shoot," news agency MCT reported.

Infante then fled the bank with US$400 (NZ$689), leaving behind the torn half of the pay slip.

FBI investigators found the other half of the note right outside the bank with Infante’s name and address printed on it.

The pay docket showed he had been paid US$165.99 (NZ$286) by Jewel Food Stores.

An FBI spokesperson was reported as saying it was one of the dumbest things he had seen.

"It's fairly unusual that we see something that specifically stupid.
 
"But overall, we see a lot of strange bank robberies," he said.

Infante reportedly admitted the robbery after being tracked down by the FBI a short time later.
