I was supposed to have had a urine test but not sure why she didn't go ahead with it.  She also checked the heartbeat.  ]]>

If you are happy with her then keep her cause good midwives are very hard to come by.]]>

But other than that it's just a general chat about how you are feeling, organising upcoming tests like ultrasounds and blood tests if needed, and then the heartbeat.<br /><br />I am seeing my obstetrician for the first time next week, will be interesting to see if he does anything different to what the midwife does.]]>

(I am now 14 weeks preganant and it was the second time I had seen her)  She was lovely and answered my list of questions etc but I think I was expecting to be checked out more or something.<br />All she did was ask how I was (I am feeling really good now) and then she checked the babies heart beat and that was all.  I had blood tests done by the doctor at 5 weeks preg and they were all fine.  I think I would have expected to have blood tests done again now and maybe a urine sample or something.<br />Is this normal? ]]>
