It is true about some girls being more active but that then changes as they get older, the boys become more active and the girls less so!

I would have just taken it as girls want ("need" ) more clothes and accessories than boys. It might have been that they chat a lot more and stuff... but who cares? The fact is that probably each of you are used to the gender that you have so you think her boys would be tougher to look after and she thinks the reverse. Gee, I always thought Boys were more high maintenance than girls. At three Jake needed constant supervision and ran around like a nutter, whereas my gf's little girl would sit nicely and play beads for HOURS. I have one of each sex and yip sometime my girl is harder as she like to be around us all the time even more when friends are here and my boy can also be hard work - hopefully your sil just meant it as a passing comment as she has yet to experience having girls.

Yep I would think maybe that was it?  Although I would take that as a compliment what a funny thing to say?  .Like I am used to running around & getting dirty with my boys so I would probably find little girls a bit different to deal with from what I am used to?  I would take it with a grain of salt, you know your girls are wonderful

I've always found girls want more people interaction by way of conversation and people reaction. It's just the way little girls seem to be. Boys (most, not all) seem to be happy to get on with things if they have something to entertain them.

Nothing wrong with either. Just the differences between boys and girls. Some research suggests these reasons might be why girls often tend to read/talk earlier than boys but that's just something I read.

I wouldn't describe that as High Maintenance. It could of been her saying that they are a little more hard work than her boys. I have found my friends girl is more demanding than my boys. And that may come under high maintainence to her.

My interpretation of high maintenance - is I guess like grown women who need to be entertained a lot and like lots of toys etc. Is that what your sil meant?

I think one of my friends kids is high maintenance but I wouldn't say it.
