I have just had the same problem my bubs went from a happy little girl to screaming! For xmas we flew to Hamilton so I was thinking prehaps it was her ears (she is now 12 weeks old) after two visits to the doctors in Hamilton both gave us a diagnosis of colic! After much more screaming this week especially around bottle feeding back we went to the doctors and surprise, surprise bubs has an ear infection the doctors in Hamilton said she was to young to have her ears checked!!! does she eventually get to sleep during the day ?

Talk to plunket etc ,and see what they suggest, as far as the crying goes ,it could be something simple like shes too hot, like LF said , or she could be an anxious baby , some are, just like there are more anxious adults than some.
They could also hopefully give you some good ideas for getting her to sleep during the day .
If the crying is getting to you , then put her in her cot, and leave, just for a few minutes , so you feel more "refreshed" , the constant sound of them crying can get overbearing at times .

ohh hun i feel your pain,james was alot like that and it tunened out he has asathma,exama,allergys to cats and grass he also has ahad a hernia opp at 9 weeks old hes very demanding aswell and has always been that way he also has dyspraxia with senetivitive issusre aswell most of these issures are on a ongoing plan to keep then under control

I don't really have any advice that hasn't already been given, but wanted to offer you some virtual hugs and say pop into the July 2008 thread, there's a fantastic bunch of really supportive mums in there, and it's always helpful to know you're not alone with any of your issues

Does she feed ok? Could you maybe get her to take a sleep by going for a nap with her? I second what Lilfatty said, go and see the family centre and see what they can do for you.
They may suggest things like putting her in the buggy inside during the day to help her get off to sleep.

Have you tried contacting your local Plunket Family Centre (to help with her daytime sleep issues).

Issy would not sleep during the day unless I held her (but would seem to be fine at night) .. so I went along and spent a couple of sleep cycles with them and they gave me loads of little tips and tricks to use.

I have a 5 and a half month old who is always crying. She cries for no reason that we can see and It's driving us insane. I've been reading on the net about oversensitive babies and I'm starting to worry she has special needs or something. She can go from being happy to crying in a flash. We first thought it was her ezcema and the itching but we have seen a Craniosacral therapist and a homopath and it's under control now but she Is now started teething to add to the dramas. She is also hard to get to sleep during the day but ok at night.
