I bought it about 6 months ago and took it out of the wrapping but never used it. This morning I put it under my tongue for 2 mins (bit of a guess, as I've never used any kind of thermometer before). Nothing happened. There is a yellow tinted see-through strip up the middle which I would have thought would change colour, but nothing happened. DH had an old thermometer he pulled out and nothing happened with that one, either. That one might be just too old, but the one I bought six months about was ordered in for me from the supplier.

What am I doing wrong?
