very definately comes down to personal preference and also the fit of the nappy on your baby.   

IMHO baby harmony, itti bitti, drybees and little buttons are my faves i've tried over the last 2yrs.

buy a couple of a few different brands and see what you like/dislike before getting a stash of one type. I went to Snazzipants and opted for the most cost effective option - their prefolds. They work well, similar to traditional cloth nappies without the copious amounts of folding, and the size of the nappy is dependent on the size/age of your baby. I really like them! Their covers are funky too I use their fitted nappies at night with a cover that they call their 'bummi's whisper pant'. They have HEAPS of info about a whole range on brands on their website if you're keen to read up a bit: Snazzipants

It does come down to personal preference on style & fit but the ones I've used and would recommend are:

Fuzzi Bunz (although insert it comes with isn't terribly absorbent on it's own it can be boosted & dries really quickly)
Honeychild (good quality & fit, inserts thirsty but dry quickly)
BumGenius V3 (goes on just like a disposable & is a one-size fits most)
Swaddlebees Econappi (one-size fits most with an absorbent hemp/velour insert)
Itti Bitti D'lish AIO (really trim & absorbent, no stuffing required, gorgeous to look at and wears really well - my fave!).

Hi clantini, unfortunately the answer is "it depends" - on your baby's size and shape, on your personal preference, on how much money you want to spend... my suggestion would be to get a few individual nappies of ones you like the look of and try them out, or get a hire kit (check out The Nappy Network for these).
