I agree with Cat, we do the ask, tell, do thing here. Playing with their bits is just natural and if you dont pay any attention to it - it will be just a phase.

I do suggest that you set boundaries for when you say "no" to her ie when touching the tv etc. I found that if I just had to keep repeating "no" it became a game unless there was a consequence if I had to repeat myself a couple of times. Gabrielle thinks no is a funny word and the more attention she gets for bad behaviour the more funny it is to her. Distraction is my best device now! I try to make sure she doesn't get bored and attention seeking in the first place and then when she does I bring out the cool toys like puzzles and stacky blocks etc that she loves.

It can be so incredibly frustrating though!!

GAbz is also starting to take notice of the girly bits at nappy change. Yep they all do it, and saying no usually makes things worse. Try moving her away saying no the first time then just removing her without speaking the rest. Or try and distract her onto another activity.

Wouldn't worry about her playing with her 'bits' lol! I did read in one of Pinky McKay's books that they know that they aren't allowed to touch certain things ie TV etc but at their age they don't have any control (I suppose impulse control) and cannot help but touch it.

LOL, I suppose it's a way of getting my attention even if it's kind of a negative type of attention.... she doesn't know any better.

As for the girly parts... ETA: Don't worry about the genitals, it's natural exploration and they do grow out of it. The annoying thing is when they get themselves dirty that way.

Luke is just as bad (not with the playing bit - he seems to take no notice) he loves the TV and anything he isn't supposed to touch. I think they see the NO thing as attention so they keep doing it. Lukes other favourite pasttime is climbing up on the picnic table outside - I have never allowed him up there, yet he continues...

Guess we keep trying and wait for them to get old enough to fully understand. OMG it's so frustrating when she plays with the buttons on the telly, the DVDs and just lately... her girly bits when I'm changing her nappy

Is she just testing the boundaries or is there something more too it?? She knows she's not allowed to touch these things as it's been a repetitive exercise since she became mobile and it's just getting worse
