I always thought it was my body training me for what was to come - I found it reassuring that I could have crappy nights sleep yet still manage a day at work - it made me think that maybe I could cope with a newborn. But trust me, you will be way more tired once bubs makes its appearance! But it will get better!

    Author: Danaj
Subject: 23874
Posted: 20 January 2009 at 9:46am

Hi Ladies,

Just wondering what your thoughts are on your body clock pre-labor.

Obviously we all have issues sleeping when we're this big, but I'm thinking there is more to it. I go to sleep about 10pm, wide awake around 1am then back to sleep about 45mins later. Then wide awake at 5am for another half hour then back to sleep till 7. It's been pretty standard most nights for the last couple of weeks. I still have to get up to pee but pretty much do that in my sleep these days. When I wake at these set times, i'm wide awake to the point where I could get up and potter round the house without yawning. DH has been sleeping in the spare room due to my lovely attractive chronic snoring (I'm so gorgeous right now) so it's not him waking me up.

So, just curious to know what peoples thoughts are on our bodies preparing us for what's to come(assuming bubs has a routine) or if you think it's just coincidence.
