It shows annual but not sick, and we dont get our payslips untill 2 days AFTER our pay, so i dont get it till thursday

We get sick leave and holidays in advance from the day we start.. So instead of having to wait 6 months like most places we get as soon as we are employed..

Lilfatty thats is how it works, i still get 10 days its just prorata'd. So i still get 4 weeks leave, just prorata'd to suit me being full time.

Im so confuzzled! 30 hours additional is alot for them to 'forget' and its the 2nd time this has happened, they wont fix it up either untill next pay (a fortnight away) if it is wrong. I would have thought that the 10 days would be pro rata'd based on what you normally work.

For example .. the holidays act allows for four weeks annual leave (so it would be the company policy), however your four weeks allowance would be less than mine because you work half the number of hours. So the company policy is for 10 days for everyone, not dependent on if you are full or part time? In that case yes you should get paid if you only took 5 days when Kylah was in hospital and 2 days last week (and you would have 3 left). If you only get half the sick allocation (ie because you only work 20 hours instead of 40) you would only be entitled to 5 days sick leave and that would have been used when Kylah was in hospital. It really depends how your contract is worded.

They have a company sick policy that is 10 days.

So from what i have worked out is i was working 3 days a week, 20 divided by 2 = 6.66 a day, so i done 6.66 x 10 = 66.6 hours?

Not including me going up to 30 hours.

Does that sound right?

I done 30 hours additional work. They pay a week in advance and a week behind. So for example, todays pay would have been last week plus this/next week.

I took 2x days sick last week. 1 x 8hr and 1x 6 hour.

Plus a full week as Kylah was sick and in hospital last month.

So i should still have got my additional hours and my full pay right? Sick leave is normally paid out at your relevant daily pay. If you work 30 hours per week ie 6 hours per day, then for each sick day you should have most probably been paid out at the equivalent of 6 hours pay. 30 hours is a lot - did you take the full 5 days off? Other reasons they might not have paid it out could be because they are waiting for a doctors certificate or you have already used your full entitlement.

Not sure if I've read your post properly though - do you just mean how many days you'd be entitled to given that they allow 10 days leave a year? I would assume that you would get 10 days based on whatever hours you were working when you take that sick leave (not when you become entitled to it) - ie now you are working 30 hours a week, you would be entitled to 10 days or 60 hours sick leave given that you work 6 hours a day.

Give the Dept of Labour a call to clear things up - they are usually pretty helpful. Sick leave - Holidays Act 2003

After six months with an employer, an employee is entitled to five days' paid sick leave during the next 12 months of employment. Sick leave can be taken for themselves or to care for their spouse, dependent child or parent. Unused sick leave can accumulate up to 20 days.

I would say that you would have been entitled to 5 days total (September till now) and that you will be entitled to probably another 2(ish) for the rest of the year going forward due to the change in hours.

ETA I'm not in payroll or anything, that is just what I would expect if it were me.

At my work we get 10 days sick leave a year, its worked out on hours you work.
I do 20 hours a week, my year runs september to september.
I changed 11 Jan to 30 hours a week.
