I fell off a curb once and although I hadn't torn my Archilles I had bruised/stretched it quite badly and I wasn't able to put any pressure on my heel due to it, it got so bad that I resorted to crawling around the lounge as I couldn't bare the pain.

If it's not that, perhaps she's just badly bruised it, and yes it can hurt.

Our kids don't pay for the doctors, although we pay $15 for Conor

    Author: busymum
Subject: 24361
Posted: 07 February 2009 at 6:25pm

A couple of days ago, Hannah jumped down off something and landed hard on her heel. Ever since we have heard about not much else. It's still sore (3 days later) and sometimes she will walk around on tip toes to avoid standing on the heel. Now I know that H has the ability to be somewhat precious about these things but I just wanted to check that I'm right in this: provided she can walk on it, ie there are certainly no breakages, it's just a matter of time until the bruising/pain subsides and I don't need to get it checked out.

Another qu, slight OT: Do you start paying for children's medical care in NZ at 5yrs or 6yrs?
