Yes there are people that abuse it but on the whole people are pretty honest regarding BL. I felt that if you wanted to go to the funeral enough then you are suitably breaved.<br /><br />Sorry to hear of your loss Becks. My Great Aunts & Uncles are very special to me.]]>

A couple of years ago my grandmother passed away and DH was able to get a day off work to travel for the funeral so we could all be there - just as well because we had to duck out for two nappy changes while we were at the funeral!!<br /><br />Sorry for your loss though]]>

Its only if its your parents, grandparents, kids or siblings. Some bosses may be more sympathetic but they legally don't have to. My old work gave 3 days Bereavement Leave for immediate family and then 1 day for others at their discretion.  It would be pretty poor if they turned you down though.]]>
