I'm not very good at it.
From what I remember the only thing I really ate was carbs, and somehow I dropped 5kg and still have not gained it back. I felt like all I was doing was eating for a while, but I think you just notice it more as you are worried about gaining weight (well I am anyways).

Regular exercise made me feel like I had more energy and I haven't put on as much weight this time. Just dont over-do it, if you feel tired then stop.
I'm a carb junkie anyway, lol, so didn't make much difference to me. I'd just go with it, you'll probably settle down once you get to 12 weeks, then once you have a big belly eating can be a struggle as you feel so full sometimes!

Congrats and good luck with your pregnancy.

Edited by pomikiwi

As you get further along, there'll be less and less food you feel like. DF asks me daily what's for tea, or what I want. I just say I don't know, because to be honest, I don't. I have no idea. So if I feel like something, I'm just going to eat it - it's better than the nothing I would usually eat!! At the moment my favourite thing is plums, the contrast of sweet and sour. Just thinking about them makes me salivate. And I'm not that far in front of you!!!

Now, it's crumpets and fresh fruit. So far I've put on 4.5kg, but in saying that a) I'm having twins and b) if it means two healthy bubbas that's ok. The bread thing didn't last for long for me, maybe a week or two max??

As for should you be indulging....it's up to you. Personally, I decided I'd rather eat what the heck I felt like and stop myself feeling sick instead of worrying about my weight and what I was eating.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't put on much weight at all first twelve weeks and that 2kg is about normal.

I don't feel sick at all, just a bit tired. And am slightly paranoid about putting on tooo much weight as you may have guessed.

Should I be indulging these cravings?

Edited by Lady Lizard
