I usually stick old clothes in the recycle bins usually for child cancer etc.

A nice idea! However Red Cross says:
Please do not donate goods
We are not accepting goods because it often costs more to collect and transport than to purchase from local businesses. These businesses have often also been badly impacted and can benefit from the activity. Currently we are focused on people's immediate needs. If we identify a specific need we will make a public call.

There may still be a few places accepting goods for shipment to Fiji after their recent flooding? Or there's always Women's Refuge?

Does anyone know if there are any appeals in Akl collecting goods for the Victorian Bushfire?

We are moving in a few weeks so during my cleanout I have come up with a few clothes and some kitchen/household items. I just wondered if they would be useful in Victoria.
