He has a temperature and runny nose so I'm thinking that's the reason. Having said that, his fluid intake has dropped quite a bit anyway. I've decided that as long as he's not showing any signs of dehydration he's probably getting enough. The Ministry of Health says they should be getting 800mls by this age (including fluid in food) but some days I'm only getting 400mls into Ollie.

I hope the d&v settles down soon!!

He likes to feed himself now and hates it when I try to hold him and feed him, so I pop him on the floor and give him his bottle, but he dicks around something chronic these days and will only drink half the bottle, and I try and try and try to get him to drink the whole thing but he wont, and he still seems happy as larry, so im not worried.
Is Daniel still eating his solids well? If so it might be that he just doesnt want as much milk these days, thats what i figure is happening with Caden.

Edited by Sheza

I did wonder about the snacking habit and was wondering if that was the worst thing in the world (it's somewhat painful for us cos all our time is spent feeding). If he is really thirsty, he will drink, so maybe I'm just trying to force him to keep with his old pattern and he's moved on .... Who knows?

JJ is still on the boob (although he has one FF when he spends a morning at daycare) so take my advice with a grain of salt.

It's possible he's just gotten into the habit of snacking? JJ has certainly spaced out his feeds since starting solids, in the morning in particular it's 4 hours before he wants another feed. Maybe don't offer it to him at morning tea but wait until he's giving you hunger cues? (That's if he does obvious hunger cues?)

The last 3 days, he's starting getting fussy and FFs are taking forever. He used to be 200ml at breakfast and bedtime, then 150ml at MT, lunch, afternoon tea, and 100ml dreamfeed.

Now, it's taking MT and lunch to just get 150ml into him, and I'm only managing that by offering the bottle every 10 minutes or so.

Do I get worried that he's not drinking enough? If so, what can I do? Or is he just telling me he's getting enough? All up, he's probably getting 550ml + BF dreamfeed. It's just the painful prolonged nature that's driving me insane - that, and the fact he vomits most of it up 10 minutes after drinking
