Oh, the paint shop told me to sand it way back and try to sand the oil based stuff under it too.
I will try the sugar soap and dad's suggested sanding style, nice and gently. I have been able to scrape a tiny bit off but not much at all.

I would suggest calling a paint shop and asking them. You will need it smooth if you want a smooth finish to the new paint job. Oh, I think it's acrylic paint on oil based, glossy paint, it's all flaking off and I want to repaint it with decent bathroom paint. How am I supposed to get it smooth then?

I spoke to dad this morning and he said to wash it with sugar soap first to take the *something* off, damn it, I can't remember! What are you sanding? Cool thanks, I will sand softer :) If I changed the paper when it clogs I will need a million pieces! I have just been picking it out with my nails.

DH says ur prob pushing a little hard. It will just clog anyway apparently...then just change the paper (I reckon give it a tap till it unclogs)

Does anyone know how to stop it clogging with paint and scratching the wall???? Am I pushing too hard? Not hard enough? Should I be making DH do it because I'm a girl?
I have a 'palm sander', like a sanding machine thing, it goes fine for about 4 mins then it clogs and scratches. It has vent hole things in the paper so the machine can suck the dust out.
