I had the same prob with the baby cheeks, far too big on a newborn and only just fitting really good now on my 6 month old on the smallest setting!! Our smalls can be sized using the snaps to pull the legs in quite small.

I have got Itti bitti's Small & my boy is skinny with lean legs & they have worked a treat. He's done some explosions & they have been contained.

eta: I've been amazed at how absorbant they are! Takes a few washes but they are really good & keep his little butt dry.

The other cloth I have on him is Down undies outers with flats folded inside & they don't contain that well & flats aren't that absorbant either.

I don't have any experience with long lean legs (both of my babies have had chubby legs!) but have you tried a small Honeychild nappy? The newer style is cut to fit from 2.5kg so is truely a newborn nappy (as apposed to other 'smalls' that might not fit until 6-8wks of age). I have a couple in my newborn stash (not yet in use) and they look really cute & tiny! They come with a microfibre insert but can also comfortably fit a booster as well which would give you plenty of absorbency. Okay, sorry if this has been asked before, but am wanting to start buying a decent supply of MCN's, but would like some advice on what types and brands would be most suitable for a baby boy with longer leaner legs (compared to chubby legs) and skinny waist, but already tending to be a heavy wetter!
Have so far got 3 Babyfirst all-in-twos, size 1, tried a couple of times so far, but got leaks because he was wetting the insert right through and the snaps weren't quite tight enough round the top of his thighs to keep it in.
